Phil's POV
i smiled, "ok then." i sat next to chris and patted the seat next to me, showing the boy- i still don't know his name- where to sit. he sat in the seat, "so what are we doing today? do you know?"he asked. "i think we're dissecting a human heart." i say, trying to get a kick out him. "you're joking. there's no way we'd be dissecting hearts, let alone human ones." he responded.
"why not? why wouldn't we be dissecting hearts, let alone human ones?" i copied his tone of voice, actually somewhat curious why we couldn't be dissecting hearts. "becauuuuse 1. that's disgusting 2. we don't have the proper tools- well we do they're just all rusty and can't cut anything. 3. do you really think the school has the budget to supply us human hearts? that was rhetorical, don't answer that."
"Yeah, that's true." Mr. Callahan walked in and the boy silenced me with a "shh."
"Today we're going to be creating a simple circuit that powers a small windmill. simple enough. don't mess it up, chris i'm talking to you." he pointed to chris who was beside me. I chuckled as chris looked up and have a salute, "yES SIR!" He said. i think he's going to mess up anyways.

"Phil- no- you're doing it wrong-" Dan said grabbing my hand and moving it away. "Then how do you do it?" I wanted to call him by his name but I didn't know it, and asking now would be weird.
"Well.. you put the battery in this way, not that way." He said, readjusting the battery "Ohhhhh..." i say. I looked at the boy, at his eyes, at his hair, at his dimples when he smiled.
I looked down at my feet then I noticed his shoes. "I like your shoes." A smile crept to my face.
He blushed shamefully, "I didn't have time to find the matching shoe.... it's a fashion statement?" He says, coming out more of a question that he meant it to be.
"Your shoes untied." I say.
