Author's Note:I really like writing short stories. Being able to take a random scene, character or snippet of dialogue and expanding it makes me smile and fills me with some kind of juvenile glee.
As I brushed up on my short story skills through reading the variety of "how-to" books and a good portion of Alfred Hitchcock anthologies, I began to study flash fiction a bit more. I subscribed to an ezine called Shotgun Honey*, which publishes flash fiction stories in the vein of noir, crime and the like. Reading a handful of tightly-crafted, satisfying stories tends to inspire me.
So I sat down and wrote one myself. Short, sweet, and to-the-point. Loved the concept, loved the end result and loved the story. (Hope you did, too!)
*I actually submitted my story to Shotgun Honey when I was done, and they liked it enough to feature it on their website. A serious highlight for this budding author.
Liked the story? Any chance of clicking that star down below? Maybe? (Please?) :) Or a comment! I LOVE comments!
If you REALLY liked the story and want the full collection without waiting for each installment, you'll find the entire Snapdragon anthology over at Amazon or anywhere else eBooks are sold.... (those who purchase the full ebooks are in for a surprise at the end...)
Again, thanks for reading!
