Chapter 2

Washing her hair and body to clear all sweat and dirt, she continued to think about the past. When her best friend Anne left the country to England . She was alone after the funeral. And she thought it will suck when she went back to school but she was surprised at how things turned out.

Alex's p.o.v

I felt so down that mom let me go back into school. I wish I hadn't buh I had no choice. And school is going to suck since my best friend isn't here . " only friend you have " my mind reminded me. Yes . I only had one true friend . The other people in the school all either hated my guts for being rich and known or worshiped the ground that I walked on. " ughh. This life sucks " I said to myself. I just want to be done and over with this day because I didn't want the unwanted sympathy and attention I'll get since everyone heard about my famous dads death. " One of the best surgeons lost to a car crash." I huff. Avoiding eye contact I make my way to my locker without looking up to where I was going . " oumf " I land on my butt ." Wow. Just great . " I mutter to myself
" I'm so sorry. Are you okay ? " I hear a nice male voice ask. Not looking up. I get up and gather myself, pat my butt and mutter I'm fine.
" sorry. I should have watched where I was going " I replied as I maneuvered my way past him.
But I guess he wasn't done with me yet because he held my arm to stop me.
His hands were strong and the gave me a warm tingly feeling as it touched my arm.looking up to the owner of those fine hands I'm dumbfounded by his look. " amazing arms amazing face " I thought as I gazed into his Amber eyes which looked puzzlingly at me. He had a nice face to his body. My heart fluttered as I felt warm all of a sudden.
" are you mad at me ? I'm really sorry." He said worried
" no. I'm fine and I'm not mad." I replied and looked at him. He didn't know who I was . That was a nice feeling. At least I didn't have to bother about someone showing me sympathy.
" oh okay" he breathed
" are you new? Because I haven't seen you around here " he asked
" hahahahaha , I'm not. I went out of town for a while . I haven't seen you around either. Are you new?" I said
"Yea . My family and I moved into town just last month " he said smiling
" okay cool. " I said smiling back
" I'm sorry about what happened to your dad. I know I don't know how it feels and I won't pretend I do but I will be damned if I lost someone that dear to me. Sorry but I heard some of the students talk about you as you entered" he said sincerely . Just for a second my smile faltered but he was sincere so I gave a sad smile back.
" thanks " I replied as my eyes teared up. Looking down on the floor he extended his hands for a shake.
" I'm Elkin by the way. Elkin Jones " he said
" I'm Alex McCarty . Nice meeting you Elkin " I replied. Not letting my hand go he dragged me after him out of the school
" hey, where are you taking me " I said surprised
" somewhere to relax. We taking a day off . It's not easy under these scrutinizing eyes of the school" he replied turning to wink at me making my lips break into a grin.
He led me to the back of the school and settled in the grass relaxing beside a tree. I watched him ,reluctant for a while buh thought " hey , who gets to sit beside a hot guy everyday. Not me. So not missing this." Sighing I settle beside him. After we get to know each other playing 20 questions .
I learnt about him being an only child like me too . He was into athletics which I found intriguing .
His dad got transferred from their state to ours . He told me about his old school and how he also missed his friends . I also told him about my best friend Annie and he laughed a lot as I shared some of my times with Anne.he was a good listener and I saw myself fall deep for him. Young or not I was fascinated by him and I knew that was the start of a new friendship. We stayed there till school was over as we had our lunch packed on us. When the bell went off for the close of school we headed to the schools gates to wait for our rides . We exchanged numbers and we became closer each passing day after that.

Present day

Cleaning up she dresses up and puts on some clothes. Feeling bored with nothing to do on this boring weekend she goes down to the living room and turns of the music. Grabbing the keys to her Audi salon car her mom got her on her recent birthday, she locked the house and headed out. Thinking about how amazing it was to have rich and famous parents. It had it perks since it made her gaining her drivers license easy. It was dropped of to her at home. Sometimes she wonders how her mom got to work in a government hospital and still gain a lot of awards that she has received. "Well she's as bright as I am " she thought as she smiled to herself. Driving out of the house without any fixed destination she sets on the road putting shades on and whistling to the song blaring from her cars radio. Thinking about nothing really she remembers she promised her friend, her only friend Elkin out for a ride in her car . She gives a quick turn to his house's street and parks in front of his family's huge two storey building . Gazing up at the building lovingly I smiled. I always admired it. As rich as they were , and expensive the house looked it had this homey feeling at it that Alex loved. She smiled as she remembers how Elkin teases her to leave her old neighbor hood to his wealthy neighborhood . Shaking her head at Elkins funny remark she pulls out her phone to call him.
