the only thing audible was the distinct ringing sound that was ever so prevalent in the back of my aching head. I tried to open my eyes but decided it would be easier to keep them blocking out the view of where ever I was. What had happened to me? The last thing I remembered was riding in the car with my mother and then it all went blank. Had we gotten hit, no that was impossible, my mom had always been the perfect driver. Not even a single ticket was on her record.
"haley?" a stern voice rang through the space, "Haley can you hear me?"
Right then and there I forced my eyes open. The first thing I saw was a thing single tube entering my left wrist. Everything around me was white. White walls, white sheets, even a white bed. The last time I had been in this position, was well when the incident happened. When they had revive me several time just to keep the pills from completely draining the life from my body. But that was all in the past, the on,y thing that mattered at this moment was figuring out what was going on.
"Haley?" the voice act again
"where am I," I moaned. I looked up to meet the eyes of a doctor in his mid fifties.
"Haley there's been an accident. It occured about eight days ago now. You've been in an induced coma ever since."
"What do you mean there was an accident?" looking around I started to notice more tubes entering my body, deep, red scrapes just about everywhere p, and that my right leg was engulfed in a not so sleek cast, then it hit me, " where's my mom?" I asked
He stuttered over his words, " you're mother? I..I..I'm sorry Haley, she's--"
I cute him off," oh just spit it out she's dead isn't sure," tears we're filling my eyes now.
"She was killed on impact," he glanced downward, " a fine family has offered to adopt you, you may meet with them as soon as you are comfortable. Also now that you have awoken, we will do a series of tests to set your departure date."
I swallowed the years that would muffle my voice," thank you, can you please leave now," and with that he was gone. I knew I was being rude but who could blame me. Sure my mother and I fought like any other mother and daughter would and sure we weren't the best of friends, but that didn't mean we didn't love each other. My father escaped the grip of our family when I was just around the age of three so there was no point in attempting to contact him. I was on my own now and that was just the the way it was going to be.

After the tests were run, it was determined that mt release date would be in just five shirt days, five days that passed by ever so quickly. Within those days, I met with the new family and as much I didn't want to say it, they were amazing. Their daughter, but the name of Jamie, attended my school and was currently in two of my classes, but would be switching around her schedule to get to know me better. Jamie was adopted from china around the age of two. She had a great sense of humor and stood at about five foot one, a great difference to my five foot nine.
one the day of my departure, i packed up all my belongings, and hobbled to front entrance of my crunches, my new family awaited me there.
The mother, Addison, spoke first, " hi honey, are you ready to go home." I nodded knowing that I would never be returning to the home I had shared with my mother seeing as all my belongings had already been transferred to my new house. I swallowed this thought and the feelings that came with it. Now was not the time to start crying.
after a short drive, we pulled up at a semi-large home located near Wimdy Hill, one of the most becoming places in town. The house was a sweet beige color with exposed exterior brick walls.
"it's beautiful," I said in amazement
"well thanks Haley.". The husband John said.
"are you ready to go see your room?" Jamie asked me.
"sure," I was filled will curiosity. We entered the house and immediately walked down the hallway to the door on the left. When the door was opened, a large room with warm red walls and a canopy bed was exposed. It was absolutely stunning.
"this was previously our guest room, and now it's yours. We knows it's probably not what you envisioned so we can change anything you would please." Addison said smiling.
"No it's perfect. Thank you, thank you so much," I looked at my new family, smiling graciously. They left me alone to get to know my surroundings which we quite amazing. Attached to the room was a small bathroom. It was also red but with a gold ornate chandelier and black outlines of the Eiffel tower on the wall. This was going to take some time to get used to, but at the same time I felt surprisingly ready.
**
A week after that, I decided it was about time I returned to school. I miss seeing everyone, even my annoying algebra teacher. Thankfully both Addison and John were on board with my decision. As I drove to school on that Monday, I could wait to see everyone especially Christy but one name sat on mind even more than the others, and that was KeegamHey guys, I'm actually proud of this chapter haha.
