my mind felt clouded for the remainder of the day as if someone had forced cotton balls in my ears and refused to take them out, ya it wasn't the best feeling. I couldn't place how or why that had just happened, which truly impaired my learning for the rest of that Friday. Finally the school day came to a close and I exited the building, when so,etching caught my attention out the corner of my eye. Keegan was sitting on one of he unstable looking benches outside, his hands we placed in his lap, folded, and his eyes were shifted down like he had done something wrong. This was the first time I had seen him outside out of the two classes we had together. As his eyelids shifted up, we made eye contact that fell heavy through the air like a strong fog. He opened his mouth as to speak, but someone else stole his words.

"Haley! Are you ready?" Jamie screeched from the other side of the courtyard. I glanced at her and nodded eager to turn my attention back to Keegan, but by the time I had the chance to, he had returned to his original position as If to shut out the world.

******

"Haley....knock knock," Jamie said while entering my newly re-done room, adorned with a rich red color splattered on the walls and new bedding for the large canopy bed. " Are you ready to get this weekend started?"

I glanced at the clock, " Jamie , you know it's noon on a Saturday right, not the best time to get the "party" started."

"listen I know you won't be off your cruches yet but homecomings coming up and I'm forcing you to go." she stood in the nook of the door with her armed crossed with a sassy smirked curved across her face, " come on you can get any dress you want, mom and dad said so."

I sighed knowing that There was nothing I could say to change her mind, "ok just give me twenty minutes." with that I made my way to the on suit applying simple make up and my favorite accessory, a flower crown. By the time I was done, Jamie stood yet again in the doorway this time draped with a scarf and a bright red purse.

she grabbed my hand," come on let's go!"

The drive to the mall was short and once there, I settled on a red floor length dress only for that fact that it covered up the cast that engulfed my keg better than any of the other dresses. Jamie settled on a short yet simply blush dress, that she looked fancy in. Then suddenly she asked, " so Haley, you got your eye on anyone at our school?" she winked at me.

I felt a fire rise to my cheeks, " we'll there is one guy."

"oooo do tell"

"I think you know him, he's in our algebra class. His names Keegan?"

"Keegan? You mean the one who doesn't talk."

I slight laugh rose through my throat, "ya that's him,"

"well lets just say he's not my type but ya know whatever floats your boat."

"ya I guess," I said still blushing. After that we retuned home due to the fact that my homework pile was expanding by the moment. Every time I dug through my back pack attempting to find some school supplies, my fingers seemed to graze of the wrinkled paper that Keegan had scribbled his number bet on. I had avoided calling him due to the fact that I didn't want to seem clingy or annoying, but I couldn't stand to wait any longer.

i grabbed my new iPhone, seeing as ,one was destroyed in the accident, and typed in his number. The phones dial tones rang through the silent air sharply and by the second one the tension was rising so much that I forced myself to hang up. What was I even doing? Why was a calling this random guy that I didn't even know? Homework, that what was I needed to focus on right now, not some guy,

I returned to my algebra text book only to be interrupted by my ringtone cutting through the air. An unknown number read on the screen, but I knew exactly who it was.

"h-hello?" I answered after the third ring, tripping over my words.

"Haley! Saw I missed your call. What up?"

" nothing really how about you?"

he didn't answer, " Are you doing anything tonight?

" not that I know of."

"great! I'll pick you up at seven alright?" his voice full of questioning, " don't worry I've been to Jamie's house before. I know where to find you." Was he asking me out on a date?

"Um ok? Where are we-"

" Dont worry, just trust me." I didn't know why but for some reason I though I could.

"Alright then." and with that he hung up. I glances at the clock, it read 5:00 pm. I had two hours to get ready, but I knew it wouldn't take that long, I mean I wasn't that high matinence. After I finished my homework, I told both Jamie and my new parents what was going on, and they were happy to approve. Returning to my room, I dresses my self in dark skinny jeans, a ruffle shirt, a cardigan, and simply vans. And then, as punctual as can be, the doorbell rang, signaling the begging on this soon to be mysterious night.
