Eleanor sat in her office that had become much more of a home to her now than she ever thought it would have. She couldn't help but stare at her calender she kept on her desk. The season was already almost over and she could barely believe all that had happened.
She owed everything to this club, as although she didn't talk to her brother that much anymore, she had been gifted an entire squad of new brothers -although some of them acted more like her children. It was the first match of the semi final for the champions league that night and she'd helped to get them there.
Checking her phone quickly before she went down to the pitch, she saw a couple messages. The first was from Neymar,
Hey, good luck for tonight, you'll smash it, puta ;) xx
She smiled, a little relieved that they were okay considering the fact that she'd had a go at him a couple times about the PSG games but they'd been talking again recently. Everyone argues but she knew she could count on him.
Similar messages of good luck came in from Hector and Mesut, who she'd been talking to a lot more recently - enjoying getting all the gossip on Sergio. She'd even got a message from Sam, who was the female reporter she had met and she'd soon become great friends with.
Feeling a lot more positive, Eleanor replied quickly before turning her phone off and leaving the room, meeting up with Zinedine on the way down there.
"How's Theo doing?" She asked him, not hiding her fondness for his younger son.
"He's feeling a lot better, excited to come to the match tonight," he said with a calm smile, never showing any nerves he may have in regards to the match against Atletico. Thinking about it, she understood that confidence today considering the plan they had down. She knew it was dangerous but seeing the guys in training she felt invincible. The defense better be invincible because she'd barely slept and was as stressed as ever.
Getting out there, she smirked seeing how Sergio and Lucas seemed to be dabbing. Wandering over to them, it was impossible to take the smug smile off her face.
"Picho, is that a dab?" She asked him as if they didn't both already know. And, they knew the consequences that had been put in place after everyone had had enough of cringing about it.
Both men stood looking down at the ground, avoiding eye contact but knowing what was coming.
"5 laps for both of you, actually only 4 for lucas, he's my favourite." She ordered and lucas nodded, setting off on the run with a small smile on his face. Sergio on the other hand wasn't so compliant.
"Hey you're always nicer to him," he complained and she could barely hold in her laughter as he pouted. "It's just because you think he's pretty."
She smirked at his grumpy tone before replying, "Well obviously, did you see that guy in the rain? Godly. 6 laps. "
He ran off muttering something about being captain and didn't restrain himself from sticking his tongue out in her direction but thankfully for him, she was already distracted by the fact that Marcelo, Pepe and Cris were sitting cross legged on the grass instead of stretching. A glance over to Zizou was all she needed to see to know that they were left to her to deal with as he led a warm up with the other group.
Approaching them, she almost screamed - with laughter or frustration she wasn't quite sure. They were creating daisy chains. Daisies don't even grow on the practise pitch, did they bring them from somewhere??? These were some of the best footballers on the planet. If only some of the people who pissed themselves at the sight of Pepe could see him right now, wearing a crown of daisies.
