The stories go that it started with his intoxicating smile that lead me in like a stray cat indulging on catnip.

But truly I was just a cat that beckoned to a curiosity that controlled me with such fervor, that the saying curiosity killed the cat became nothing but a reality.

Sometimes he would gaze my way, making me feel like I was a little more than average to the eye, and popular when he started meeting my touch.

You would think I was the cat, but I wasn't, never was.

Although I'd like to think I was.

But I was nothing but a mutt that would be thrown away after you grew tired.

A dog who believed she was a cat.

When he was the cat who knew all along and played with my stupidity with such clever eyes.

I was the dog, the mutt, the stray who shouldn't exist, and he was the cat atop his throne and so much more.
