(Y/N)= Your Name

(Author's note) This is my first story so please have mercy on me. I fully plan on making this a slow paced story so apologies in advance for those of you not a fan. Also thank you for stopping by!

Life can be filled with hardships that have to be faced, but what do you do when your life is nothing but hardships? You had never known what it was like to be successful, or to be picked to play on a team, and most certainly not what is was like to have someone care about you.

You never had parents that wanted you they oftentimes left you in poor conditions even taking away your mattress so they had an extra one on their bed. You found that for every hardship they faced they always blamed you for it and would find some way or another to make you suffer. They had even forced you to move away from your only friends at Sanctum Academy to Vale where you now attended Signal Academy after you tried standing up for yourself.

One night they were arguing and suddenly you heard your mother scream as your father punched her. The next thing you hear is your mother declare she was leaving and packed her things and left slamming the door behind her in the face of your father who was attempting to make her stay.

The day your mother left was the worst as your father released all of his anger and frustration into you throwing punch after punch yelling how you had caused this and you were convinced you were going to die as each blow came flying down upon you. Eventually, you grew to fear him to a point that you ran away at your first opportunity as his beatings became more frequent.

Alas, you found that no matter where you ran trouble still found you in the form of bullies at Signal Academy. You were isolated by just about anyone but there was a couple of people who were your friends despite what everyone else said or did. Although they were still at Sanctum Academy they still did their best to keep in touch with you. One was a cat Faunus named Silvia Moonstripe and the other was Pyrrha Nikos.
Although your stay was short lived you, Pyrrha, and Silvia were very close and you had heard both were still setting new records at the school since you had left. They were both graduating this school year and out of fear of letting them down despite all their encouragement you had stopped talking to them out of fear of dragging them down with you due to you failing your classes. You also had wanted to keep them from knowing how bad your injuries had been getting with bruises hindering your healing. However, something was about to happen that you would never forget.

"Run!" This was the only thought in your mind as you raced down alleyways and across streets jumping over trash cans, dodging cars, and ducking around corners. All you could hear was the sound of your heart beating feverishly as you ran and the cold laughter that rang out from behind you coming from the same group of teens that had been chasing you.

Lead Bully: "There's no point in running (Y/N)! You never could outrun us you should just give up and let us kill you then you'd be good for something!"
Second Bully: "Yeah! You'd make good crow food!" The rest laughing loudly as they spread out to try and surround you.

You knew they would catch up it was only a matter of time. The only way to avoid them was to get to your safe spot near the police station as they couldn't get to you once you got into the passages under the station so long as you could make it.

As they get closer and closer you quickly look around and seizing an opportunity you begin jumping up the walls and running across the rooftops your breathing and heart rate exploding as you began pushing yourself harder as you got closer and closer to your only means of escaping.
