Silence. Absolute silence. No one spoke as the medical team start putting away their gear and laying a blanket over top of Jaune. No, what was once Jaune. You hear nothing at all even as people began to move around you and spoke to one another. The memories flashing through your mind of when he was alive not even five minutes before, and how quickly his life was extinguished. Unable to move you just sit there  as though some invisible weight was pressing down keeping you in place. Things just didn't feel right. This death didn't feel right; he being as young as he was. The look in his eyes as he laid there before you burning itself into your mind.

"Is this the fate for us all?"

Your mind swirls with the thoughts of the others around you each dying in some horrible way. The townspeople, the kingdoms, all of humanity, falling to an enemy that never ends. An enemy that cares not for what it kills. Be they man, woman, or child, the Grimm would kill them all regardless.

"If this is fate why fight it? Is there even a reason?"

Unable to continue seeing the sight you force yourself to look away. Turning your head your eyes lock onto Pyrrha and the others sitting next to you. Each one seems to be taking it in and their eyes much like your own seeing such a sudden death before you all. Their eyes looking as though void of life remain locked onto the cloth. You can only imagine their thoughts, but you feel they must be much like your own.

The words of your father echo in your head at this moment. "We fight so they don't have to. We fight so they don't have to worry if there's a tomorrow to look forward to. We live and fight for the little moments with those we cherish the most."

Your thoughts drift to all the moments you had with Pyrrha, Silvia, Cherry, Michelle, Ozpin and the moments of peace you have had throughout the years. Completely ignorant of the constant struggles laying just under the surface. You wanted all children to have that kind of feeling. Not having to worry about tomorrow. Just enjoying today.

Standing up you walk over to the others you rest a hand on Pyrrha's shoulder seemingly snapping her out of her trance as she turns to look at you.

"Come on. He may be gone, but we aren't yet. We can live for him and all the others we still have to protect."

She pauses before nodding slowly as you help pull her to her feet.

"Let's get the others."

Walking up to Ren and Nora they each look up at the two of you and after a bit of encouragement help them slowly rise back to their feet. Taking one last look back as the medical team begin moving the body onto a stretcher you start the long walk back towards the top of the cliffs.

The group didn't speak a single word the entire way up the cliff side. Arriving at the top you see a couple of staff members who take your artifacts and record your names before directing you and the others to head to the headmaster's office. The group looks at one another briefly before turning towards you. Looking back towards the staff member you nod softly before leading the way to the office.

Entering your father's office you find it to have fewer things within it by comparison to the size of the room and the office back at home. It's a large, open, circular room with gears throughout. In the center of the room there is a desk filled with constantly turning gears that despite the number and different sizes never seem to make any sound. A small holographic monitor affixed to a scroll system seems to be displaying constantly running information. Of what? You are unsure as it leaves as quickly as it comes. Looking around you see along the walls there are pillars holding up a balcony and half of what appears to be a second floor that wraps around the entrance half of the room. The second floor seems to hold very little on it however except for a few items pertaining to the school itself and some additional chairs which look mostly unused except for as decoration. The wall on one side is a large window peaking out over the entire campus and surrounding grounds causing a feeling of grandeur and prestige to the office with only a small arch between it and a more decorated smaller window directly behind the desk. A view your father was currently looking out of a scroll screen in his hand and a sad look to his face as he read its contents.
