Doubts

Applause filled the air, but the words didn't make any sense in my head. Me? The leader? Not Pyrrha? What kind of decision was this? I've never led a team before, and Pyrrha is clearly more capable. Perhaps this was a mistake? I raise my arm, and am about to voice my thoughts, when I am interrupted as I am hugged from the side by Pyrrha.

"I'm so happy for you Y/N! I can't think of anyone more well suited to do it."

I look at her in confusion as Ozpin turns back to the audience.

"With that the forming of this year's newest teams is now over. I wish all of you the best of luck in your studies, and I am eager to see what kind of huntsman and huntresses you will all become."

The audience cheers rather loudly at this. Be it for the fact that we were now official students, or the fact that they were happy the ceremony was finally over, I wasn't sure. After all that, another staff member began guiding us through the process of getting our team rooms.

"Team rooms are Co-Ed due to the large number of applicants each year, and lack of rooms to provide for individuals or genders to separate, mostly, thanks to new legislation several years ago designed to bring in more trained huntsmen such as yourselves. It also helps you with bonding with your team members more closely, which in our experience, has been quite successful so far."

The staff showed the various rooms and their sizes which seemed to vary mostly on both the ranking of the team, and the year of the team. Eventually, we were brought to the front desk for the dorms again and we began filling out our paperwork before being assigned our rooms.

The room itself wasn't all that impressive, but considering I now had to share this room with two attractive girls, this wasn't going to be easy. We each began combing through our belongings, the ladies quick to pick their beds that had "more room" out of the four available. I began placing the few belongings I had into their respective places, as the events from before ran through my mind once more. Why did he pick me to be the leader? Was this another test? Pyrrha could easily lead this team and no one would complain, but for some reason he was picked, it didn't sit right with him.

"Hey you there? Helloooo?"

You snap out of your thoughts, looking up at the hand waving in front of your face. Nora smiles, seeing she has your attention.

"We're going to go get our schedules, and figure out how to get there, you coming?"

"Y-yeah. Sure."

Composing yourself, you get up and follow her out into the hallway, where the others are waiting. Walking together, you begin the trek back to the main offices to pick up your schedules, you firmly believe you could have gotten there much faster, but Nora well, was very excited easily, causing a number of detours.

"Soooooo, like I was saying, if you mix the berries in it is so much better than without them, just don't put the black ones in. I did that once and it tasted really good at first, but then my belly got really upset and I just couldn't move at all, it was awful! That reminds me! One time I was running through the hills and I saw this rabbit and he was just th-"

She was cut off by Rin, who had been quiet for the entire trek.

"We're here Nora..."

Thankful for the moment of peace in your mind, you walk into the building, followed by the others. Approaching the counter, an older gentleman greets you.

"Ah, new students to Beacon correct? Looking for your schedules?"

Pyrrha smiles at this, nodding.

"Yes sir."

"Your names?"

"Y/N Ozpin, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, and Lie Ren."

"Ah, alright, just a moment..."

He begins typing into a scroll station, before each of you hear a notification on each of your scrolls.

"There you all go. Anything else I can help you with?"

"No sir. Thank you for your help."

A smile graces his lips as he nods.

"Very well, have a wonderful evening then."

Heading back to the room, you each take time to look over your schedules and talk about what each of you think the courses will be like.

Time begins to fly as you each start to get to know each other, and before you know it, you all need to sleep.

Sleep comes slowly for you however, and you spend a couple of hours looking up at the ceiling, lost in thought, before sleep finally claims you as well.

Author's note: Hey guys it's been a while, a long while, but I'm back. I don't have the motivation to do the long chapters again though, so I'm just going to write each chapter at either half the length of previous, or until I feel comfortable ending the chapters. I hope you guys are ok with this, and I'm so sorry for the wait.
