Ginny's POV
"Gin-Gin-Ginny, Gin-Gin-Ginny, Ginny-Gin-Ginny, that's my good friend Ginny," Anna sang as we walked down the hall, just the two of us, hand in hand.
Most of the students above third year were in Hogsmeade, leaving very few behind, plus the first and second years. Everyone seemed to be either in the great hall or in their dorms. Fred and George are in the yard, though, throwing snowballs.
"Ginny-Ginny-Gin-ny, Ginny's my best friend Gin-ny-"
I smiled at Anna and squeezed her hand. Sometimes I thought, if she wasn't a Malfoy, she would be great in Gryffindor. She's really brave going against her family, to be friends with me. I'm really glad she's not calling me a bloodtraitor like the rest of the strict pureblood families would.
I know she's only in Slytherin because she doesn't want to be disowned by her family, and she belongs to Ravenclaw because she's really smart. Only...I still have a question.
"Anna?"
"Yes, Gin-Gin-Ginny?"
I giggled, and she did too. "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, my best friend, Ginny!"
I giggled again. "Have you ever thought of being in Gryffindor?"
She answered right away, unlike pausing to let a silence through like I thought she would have.
"Like you?"
"Yes, like me, Anna. Have you thought of it?"
"Well, if I was, we could have the same common room, eat at the same table, spend every single day being glued to each other-"
Ah, I thought in my head. So this is how Anna is so cheerful to everything. She thinks only of the positive side.
She doesn't say that she'll be disowned if she gets sorted into Gryffindor.
She doesn't say that her family is going to hate her.
She doesn't say that she'll be a blood traitor.
Instead, she says that she will have fun with me.
Bright times, happy memories ahead. I'm so glad to have a friend like Anna.
I don't care if she is a Malfoy.
Only that she is my best friend.
