Ginny's POV
"Vienna Malfoy!" It's confirmed. She's a Malfoy. But she's so nice!
I watch as the hat as it gets placed on her head. It yelled, "SLYTHERCLAW!!!"
Murmurs broke out.
"What's a Slytherclaw?" Ron asked.
"No idea," Harry answered, staring up at Vienna.
Dumbledore rose from his seat. "Miss Malfoy, I will assure you that you will be spending time in both houses. You can choose to have class with one house, and sleep with the other. As for now, you can sit at the Slytherin table."
I keep watching her, skipping to the Slytherin table, sitting next to that Pug-face Parkinson. I'd hoped that she'd acknowledge me, or at least glance in my direction.
Or maybe she doesn't know where the Gryffindor table is. But she should know. Doesn't her brother talk about Hogwarts often? Oh yeah, he does. Bad talk about us Gryffindors. Also Hufflepuffs and the select few Ravenclaws.
"Too bad she's part Slytherin," Ron says gloomily.
"Ginny?" Hermione asked. "Is Vienna anything like her brother?"
I shook my head. "Not when I talked to her. She seemed like a nicer version. Maybe she'll even stand up to him."
Hermione smiled, half-reassured.
After the feast, I'd at least hoped for a small wave from Vienna, but she flat-out ignored me. It was like we never saw each other before.
It was like I didn't even exist in her world.
There she is right now. In the center of her little group of Slytherin and Ravenclaw girls.
I recognized some of the Ravenclaw girls, like Laria Black, Tia Xing, Phoebe Huang, and...Sunnie?! Even Luna's little sister Sunnie Lovegood was friends with Vienna?! Wow...
Vienna's POV
I'm having the time of my life, here at Hogwarts! Mummy was right, it was - and still is! - amazing!
But do you know what's even more amazing? I've been chosen to attend the second year classes! That means I'll get to see Ginny more often! First class is Transfiguration!
I'll never forget Ginny's shocked face when she saw me sitting in the classroom. "Anna?!" she asked as she took a seat beside me.
"Hello, Ginny," I replied cheerfully.
Ginny lowered her head. "I don't mean to be rude, Anna, but what are you doing here?"
"I've been chosen to have class with the second years," I answered. "That means I'll be able to see you more often!"
Ginny smiled. "Do you mind if I sit here, then?"
"'Course not!" I exclaimed as I took out my books. Mummy had sent me the second year textbook, her knowing this arrangement beforehand.
Ginny blushed a little, due the pairs of eyes staring at us. It's very uncommon for a Gryffindor and a Slytherin - or in my case, a Slytherclaw - to sit together, I guess.
The lesson consisted of the professor teaching us how to do one spell, called, "Vera Verto."
She spent the first half of the class explaining it, and the next half letting us practice on our own. I think I've mastered it, and so did Ginny.
After class, we were supposed to go to Charms, but Ginny stopped me midway. The corridors were already empty, so we were alone.
It took Ginny quite a while to get what she wanted to say out, but eventually it did.
"Still friends?" she whispered.
I grinned. "Friends forever after."
Ginny smiled too, and we hugged.
Suddenly, I pulled away. "Last one to the Charms classroom is a rotten potato!" With that, I sprinted off.
Ginny giggled and ran after me.
