The waves in the distance, and the cloudy night sky with twinkling stars, and a gentle breeze created a calm setting so I started off slowly

"It was nearly over six thousand years ago. I was still working for Homeworld at the time, originally, I was made for White Diamond, but i was from the older generation of Pearls' so i was cast aside labeled as "Defective". Eventually following a chain of old masters, i eventually was handed down to Pink Diamond, who then at the time was just recently formed. That's how I met Rose Quartz, the Rebellion's Leader, although she was Pink Diamond's 2nd in command so often enough I saw her around. This was at least a few hundred years before the Rebellion's Birth took place, but i needed a place to start so." I sighed pausing, reliving old memories of the past that were still fresh and crystal clear in my mind, regardless of the millennia's that have passed.

"So if you were labeled as "Defective" for the time being, why was that?" Lazuli asked.

"Well the Diamonds decided to create a more effective way of creating mass production of pearls because they'd recently started allowing other gems of any higher ranking than a pearl to have one. So the older method of creating pearls was destroyed and I was one of the last of the older Gen." sighing and clearing my throat, i glanced as Lapis who was staring back at me.

"Hmph, never thought you'd ever have a sad story" she paused "Ironic that Pearls were typically made for standing around and looking pretty, but you've got a sadder life than most of the pearls I've met"

"And why is that?" I asked in a curious voice.

"I don't know I guess it's because I could care less about Pearls, but you made it sound interesting to learn about your older lives you've lived. And what i'm trying to say is that regardless of all the bad things we've done, we've both lived long enough, too long, older than the Diamonds" Lapis concluded.

"It's getting late don't you think? Maybe we should get back inside, Steven's probably gone to bed by now"

"It's not late enough Pearl, I don't understand why you're avoiding the topic" she said quietly with the wind brushing her bangs over her eyes.

"W-well I guess but I've got to clean and make sur-"

"You can just stay, you don't have to go yet" she said softly glancing at me with a desperate look in her eyes.

"I'm sorry but I really need to go" I said while getting up from the sand but something tugged me down.

"Please, just.... stay" Lapis pleaded tugging me down even harder.
