Chapter Three
We arrived at Rei’s and Ian’s place an hour earlier before Rei did, which made Ian do the cleaning. The moment we arrived at their driveway Ian cursed when he saw the note Rei attached in the door.
‘The maids are on a day off, whoever comes home first needs to do the cleaning :)
-Rei
P.S. Body guards don’t clean :)’
“That kid’s gonna be the death of me. She’s probably hiding somewhere just so I could be the one to do the cleaning.”
Ian and Rei lived in a silent neighborhood were almost everyone with a high status lived. I say almost because everyone lived in apartments nowadays and this is after all New York. But Rei and Ian came off from a family of old money. Ian was Rei’s cousin from her father’s side. Ian’s mother and Rei’s father were siblings and their family history consisted of wars, money, jewels, more money, etcetera. Rei’s mother is a British- Japanese business woman who looked like a dragon lady but was actually very kind and made the best chocolate chip cookies ever. Rei had five older brothers and a twin brother. The eldest son was on coma because of a terrible accident years ago. The rest were living their lives. Despite this, Rei and her brothers were terribly close, you’d be surprised how she came to be a fashionista girly girl.
Their house was big. Like really really big. A mixture of classic and modern architecture. A huge garden, lined with trees, (it looked like a park) modern pools (there were three), maid’s quarters, and so and so. Everyone’s dream house actually.
As the boys and I were cleaning we heard someone pull up the driveway, or rather on of the body guard, Jensen, I think, ran to the door to open it.
“Rei, I told you, the maid’s day offs are on saturdays. And how do you expect me to clean the whole house without help?” Ian groaned as he continued to dust the couches.
“Well, sorry to burst your bubble but Rei’s still not around.” Dani said arms folded over her chest.
Ian immediately turned around, “what! Where is she?”
The girls shrugged, “maybe she wondered off, you know how she gets easily distracted.” Kaye offered. Ian sighed. “Well, might as well start without her.”
I turned to return the rags I was holding just in time to bump with Kaye.
“Sorry,” She murmured, “That’s twice today,” She continued, laughing a bit.
I chuckled, “No biggie,” I said, holding her up.
“So guys, it’s judgement time.” Ian said as he let us choose the movies we can watch.
