Konohagakure (Hidden Leaf Village)

Now

Her name was Sarada Uchiha, but she really didn't care.

She lived in the present. Her world was colorful as the break of dawn.

With a jolly heart, she clasped the history book in her hands as she fluttered her lashes towards the window where trees swung their leaves harmoniously. Nature was pretty.

She was seated at the second to the last row of the back seats, as she didn't want to be paved with attention. It was also closest to the window. In the most little chance that she would fall asleep either to exhaustion or boredom, she could easily escape it away. She was first to arrive, about 5 AM, for she was immersed with her purpose as a student and a child; her main ambition so far, was to graduate the soonest, with the highest grades she could push herself to have, for a big smile on her Mother's face (and everyone else that expected more from her—Aunt Ino, Aunt TenTen, Uncle Shikamaru, and the list goes on). The skies were noticeably purple, shining their stars; her favorite time of the day.

Wind and a few leaves made their way to brush her hair. She gave a soft smile.

Dawn has reached its peak.

In his office, Naruto glared down at the wide spectacle in front of him: Konoha. The place that was his home.

It was everything to him. It was almost everything that mattered. He grew up here, learned how to love, learned it was never right to abandon your comrades, he learned how to deal with hate and treat more people with respect, he learned to fight for what he thinks is right—for there is worth and a reward in every pain (i.e his long-term rivalry with Sasuke), he learned to be in peace with himself and others so he would find his way. Not only that, but on the night of a full moon was the night Minato Namikaze rescued Kushina Uzumaki and fell in love. Konoha was the place he met Hinata, the love of his life now his wife and the mother of his child. The best people in his account lived, fought and died for this place, knowing Konoha would soon be home to future generations, the (little) kings and queens that still had a long way to go.

Indeed, there were too many memories in one place he felt obliged to rule. He could almost remember the first time he thought of the silliest idea of becoming Hokage, and realizing it wasn't silly at all: he wasn't really good at putting himself first, and so his passion to protect the village grew day by day. It was almost overwhelming—having caught his dream like catching a firefly with his hands, and now he's left wondering where would he go next.
