As the large cloud of lose dust and dirt fell harmlessly to the tattered ground, the two forms from within re-emerged, breathing heavily as they glared each other down with stares so cold, it periced right through their opponents soul. Surrounding them, the large battle field was littered with burnt out craters and broken mounds of rock, the lingering evidence of explosions still tormented the ground it lay upon. The two deadly figures growled fierce war cries at each other, their bodies covered in large scratch marks and painful looking bruises, but neither seemed to care as they prepared for the next attack; the sharp horn of one dripping with a thick toxic liquid whilst the other charged up a large ball of dark shadows, blackened energy slipped in between it's fingers; their eyes locked.

"It looks like both Gengar and Nidorino are about to unleash their most powerful attacks on each other, this could be fatal for either side and be the deciding move!" The announcers voice was filled with overflowing excitement as he watched the intense fight, unable to contain his eagerness to find the winner of the battle and remain professional. The roar of the crowd did not help smoother his childlike joy as they cheered for their favourite Pokemon, willing for them to continue and give them an entertaining battle. The large floodlights of the stadium poured onto the ground below, illuminating the battlefield but pushing the shadows up into the seating areas filled with the enthusiastic onwatchers.

The two Pokemon pounced at each other, putting in every ounce of energy they had left into their most deadly attacks-the screen flickering white momentarily as the channel changed, the image moving swiftly to a scene in the middle of a large city that was filled with the flashes of red and blue police sirens, which pierced through the darkness of the night sky. Large amounts of policemen in protective gear were surrounding a brightly lit building, temporarily being cut off by a blurry video depicting a large group of people in strange outfits running out of the same building.

"Muuuummm, we were watching that!"

"Yea, and it was just starting to really heat up!"

I turned to face the siblings beside me, their mother leaning over the back of the sofa we were currently sat on. She shook her head slowly, sighing as her two children pouted miserably.

"Yes, but it's 11pm. You should all be in bed." She glanced over at me, brinning me into the conversation as well.

"But..."

"No buts," she interuppted sternly, pointing up at the staircase behind her. "Bed, now!"

The three off us rose from the soft furnishing bedruggledly, moving over to the stairs as we climbed them slowly.

"And Red," The boy froze halfway up the staircase, facing his mother. "That does not mean finishing watching the battle on your laptop."

He grimaced, his now obvious intention of doing just that busted. He sighed in defeat, continuing his ascent to his room. As I slowly followed him up, the reporter who had just appeared on the tv began to read out the news.

"As you can see from the footage we have just shown you, the investigation of the game corner in Celadon city has continued, now involving 5 police units from local stations. Rumours are spreading that this building was being used as a hideout by a well known criminal team, known as team Rocket. However, the whereabouts and the current activities of this sinister organisation are still unclear."

Well they sound like trouble. I hope I never run into them...

As I got to the top of the stairs, Red gently grabbed my arm and whispered. "I'll record that battle so we can finish watching it tomorrow."

I nodded excitedly, grinning as he vanished into his room and closed his door firmly.

"What was that about?"

I turned round to face his sister, Leaf, who had silently appeared behind me.

"Oh...nothing important." I yawned, my eyes dropping slightly as I fought the urge to fall asleep then and there. Leaf laughed, taking my hand and leading me into our shared bedroom.

"Looks like someone is sleepy." Her clefairy, which had been previously perched on her shoulder, jumped up to the top bunk of the bed, which stood in the corner of the neatly organised room. Beside it was a desk, the books which had earlier been littering the top, defiantly not by my doing, had been tidied onto their assigned shelves which hung on the surrounding walls. The laptop still sat on the wooden surface, along with a pot of pens and pencils. I gazed over at the chest of drawers, the place that I usually dumped all of my Pokemon collectors items, and was unsurprised to find that, that too had not avoided the ruthlessly tidy hand of Leaf.

"I swear, you have a problem."

She raised an eyebrow. "Yea and her name is Alex."

I sighed, flopping back onto my bed as leaf climbed to her own above me. I lay there for a second, breathing slowly as I took in my thoughts, my eyes wandering to the world outside the window. The moon hung high in the pitch black sky, it's light softly enveloping the land below it as if it was it's new born baby. Trees danced slowly as the wind pushed it's silken fingers through the leaves, it's shallow whisper echoing through the night.

"You know Alex," her voice cut through the silence like a sharp knife as her head appeared above me, long brown hair blocking my view through the window. "I know we're not related, but I've always seen you as my little sister."

I smiled, pulling the warmth of the duvet cover around me. "And I see you like my older sister, annoying but caring all coming in the same package."

"Oi!" She moved back onto her bed, but continued talking. "So...I've been thinking, and I'm still unsure on what I want to do in the future. I mean, I really want to help people and Pokemon alike, but I don't know how yet," she paused, silence setting in for a few seconds, before she added. "What about you? What are your plans for the future?"

I paused, processing what she had just said, my gaze wandering outside once again. "Overall, I'm not sure really. I guess with everything that's happened I've just never really thought about it," I smirked, watching as a dark cloud attempted to cover the moon, but was ultimately defeated and dispersed into the air. "One thing I know for certain though, is that I want to see the world!"
