"It looks like the challenger has sent out Gengar! Now both trainers are down to their last pokemon, this should get interesting!"
"Give me a minute to get up to where we were last night..."
I nodded as Red continued to fast foward the battle on his laptop, leaning back in the chair as I stretched out my limbs. Sighing, I closed my eyes, absorbing the warm morning sunlight that filtered in softly through the glass of the window, a streak of light dancing gracefully across the floor and opposite wall.
I rarely came into Reds room, having shared with Leaf for the 5 years I had been here. Whilst me and Red were very close, I felt rude to keep barging into his personal space, esspecially with us not being related so people may get the wrong idea. I took this rare oppotunity to slowly scan my eyes around the room, noticing many Pokemon collectors items scattered across all available surfaces, the wooden floor also covered with large Pokemon plushies and cushions. Posters of powerful trainers with their partners hung loosely from the cream coloured walls, Reds ambitions clear as to what he aimed to be. I guess this is why his sister never came in here, the sight of the messy bed and charmander figures tossed across the windowsill would drive her insane.
"It looks like both Gengar and Nidorino are about to unleash their most powerful attacks on each other, this could be fatal for either side and be the deciding move!"
"Here it is!"
Red excitedly sat down on another seat next to me, his voice snapping me out of my daydreaming as I quickly sat back up to watch it.
"Red? Alex?"
"Aw crap," He muttered, turning off the laptop and heading to the door. We had thought that his mum would have been out longer, giving us enough time to finish watching the fight. Guess not. "Yea mum?"
"I bumped into Professor Oak on my way back from shopping. He told me to pass on a message."
Message? Well at least we weren't in trouble, but the thought of a message from kantos most famous professor had caught our attention. With the gleam in his eye, Red was obviously think the same as me.
"He told me that he's finished the thing he was working on and that-"
Unable to finish her sentence, we rushed past her, running outside and into the heart of Pallet town, the cool breeze ruffling through our hair as we raced down to the lab.
Whilst it was a very small town, Pallet was still absolutely beautiful with it's large identical looking buildings all set out in straight rows, front gardens flourishing with brightly coloured plants and lush green grass. Tall trees offered welcome shade to the kids playing outside, friends kicking soft balls on the wide street, whilst others talked about the latest news in small group's. The Sun poked down from inbetween the houses, making the atmosphere of the whole town feel peaceful and open, the bright rays catching on the sparkle of water which spurted out of the fountain in the centre of the village, glistening as it skidded across the flow of the clear liquid. It was then that I noticed a familiar figure by the edge of the fountain, appearing to be in idle conversation with Leaf.
"Hey Blue!" Red waved him down as he raced over to him with me just behind. Blue turned to face us, his ginger hair styled into it's normal spiky fashion as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his grey trousers, the purple, long-sleeved top that hung loosely on his shoulders catching slightly in the wind.
He grinned. "Hey Red, Alex. Guess gramps gave you the new as well?"
"Yea, i heard it's finally done!" Red nodded, clenching his fists in excitmet, readjusting his red cap on his head.
