"...Lucas..."

I stopped walking. I stopped never minding that I am in the middle of the catwalk. I didn't mind the unsolicited comments the people behind me irritably threw at me. I was blocking the narrow way but his name was blocking my route, my route to the stage of moving on, way bigger than theirs.

I was startled hearing that. My heart was beating faster than i thought. I wasn't aware that he still have an impact on me.

It has been years since i last heard of that name. It has been 6 years, 5 months and 14 days since he decided to cut the thread connecting our hearts. It has only been six years yet it felt like a whole lifetime to me.

A girl sitting on the nearby food chain is having a small talk with her boy friend. I heard her utter a lot of words yet my mind only chose to register that name. Only his name was understood, nothing more.

I occupied the seat near me not to give way to the people but to give way to my train of thoughts.

Memoirs of our short but sweet attachment flashed back on me.

Our first ever encounter.

It was lunch time and so, as our usual routine, we went down the cafeteria to buy the food which is made and consumed to satisfy our growling stomachs, and our cravings for indulgence.

The line was long and so i looked around to shrug the boringness. I tilted my head here and there, trying to find someone whom my eyes can be fixated with.

Only one caught my attention. He was seated on a table with his friends and was laughing his heart out. He looks good with his not so toned body, chubby cheeks, attractive eyes, and cute smile. My type of guy.

I was next in line. After I ordered, I told my friend to occupy the table across theirs. She asked me why and when she saw the guy i am looking at, she closed her mouth knowing what my motive is.

I chose to sit on the side where my eyes can be satisfied just by looking at him.

'He's so numb not to notice me staring at him' I said to myself. Miraculously, the heaven heard me and he caught me gazing at him. Instead of looking away, I smiled at him using my oh so sweet smile. Luckily, he smiled back at me.

Out of happiness, i unintentionally pinched my friend so hard. She squealed and gained curious attention from everyone inside the cafeteria including their table. She immediately covered her mouth, made apologetic gestures and for sure, mentally, she strangled me with her braided hair.

I saw him looking at my friend with curious expression and when he met my gaze, he, again, smiled.

Unknowingly, i found myself smiling like a fool because of his not so snob behavior.

They were the ones to finish the lunch first. I looked at him while he was drinking his bottled water. I closely looked on his Adam's apple while it moves. I found it sexy.

I turned my gaze to look at his eyes and was a little shocked when i saw him looking at me. When our eyes met, he winked at me. 'When did i last felt like my bloods are raising on my cheeks? Never, just now.' And it was all because of him.
