I use ideas (or writing styles) from other books a lot. Don't plagiarise but it's alright to add some elements.
Original:
"Our school indicates indicators and takes pride in our pride," Xenia mumbled whilst pulling out her old, and almost destroyed, phone and scrolling through contacts. Thinking of who to message.
My book:
"Our school traditionally indicates the best indicators." Adrian zoned back in.
'Our school indicates indicators and demonstrates demonstrations as well as takes pride in our pride.' He scoffed, assemblies were nothing but a simple bore to him. However this assembly seemed different.
