Episode 8: Copen-had-it

Last week on Total Drama: We went into the state of California for a hike through the desert. There were a few animals on the way, including a snake that got a little to close to Geni. There were some jealous boyfriends, and some flirty girlfriends. At the end of the day it was Geni who was on the way home, if it would have been an elimination challenge! The Rays got to keep a player. but not the prize.

"Can you explain it one more time?" Geni said to Jay as they sat together on the creaking bench of the plane. Jay sighed. 

"How many more times am I going to have to explain it?" She huffed rolling her eyes and looking out of the window.

"This is the last time, I promise." Geni said giving Jay a half smile. Jay sighed again.

"He's mad at you because you were flirting with Henry back in California."

"No I wasn't! I was just scared of the snake and he helped me, that's all." Geni said pouting. 

"Well, that's not how everyone else saw it." Jay said standing up. "Look, just go over and tell him what happened and-" Jay was interrupted by Chris' voice on the intercom. 

"GOOD MORNING PLAYERS!" Chris shouted, he seemed more excited than usual today. "Get off of the plane and meet me at the... set in 4!" the intercom clicked off.

"The what?" Jackson said turning to Joeseph.

"The set, I think we are doing something involving acting today." He said as they made their way off of the plane.

Joeseph:

 I know that I haven't been a really big help to the team so far, but I am trying. All of the challenges so far have been focused on who can run the fastest or who can eat the most. I'm not good at either of those things, so if I want to stay in the game, I'm going to have to step it up. I just hope the game changes.

"Welcome to the smartest place in Europe!" Chris said as the teams finished getting to an arch around him. "Today we are going to be going a different route with our competition. We are going to be having a kind of... academic challenge." There were funny looks going through the crowd. "Not to worry, the questions aren't difficult of you know facts." He directed them to a stage that was set up with two bleacher-like stands on either side of a large glass podium. 

"What are those?" Jake said walking up to the one with his team's logo on it. 

"These" Chris said, taking his place at the podium "are your seats for the challenge, everyone file in." He stopped and waited for everyone to sit down, and then he continued. "You'll see that there are buzzers in front of each member of the team if you know the answer press the buzzer, it's very simple. You will have ten seconds to answer each question. For every right answer your team will get a point, for every wrong answer" Chris laughed. "Well, I'll just show you." He pressed the two buttons that were in front of him. The seats that the teams were sitting in lit up and sent an electric current running through them. There were a few screams, and a few people cursed. 

"What the heck!" Derek said jumping out of his seat.

"Just encouragement to answer the questions right." Chris said still laughing. "Well, if there are no more questions, let the games begin!"

"Question one." He said pulling note cards out of his pocket. "What and when were the first plants grown in space?" 

"How are we suppose to know that?" Duke shouted, Chris pressed a button, and his whole team was shocked. Joeseph buzzed in.

"1995, and potatoes?" He said half-heatedly.

"Correct!" Chris shouted. The Rays all patted Joeseph on the back.

"Question two, child beauty pageants are illegal in what country?"

"France" Joeseph buzzed and answered again. Chris nodded.

"Three, how many languages are spoken in New York City?" 

"One" Derek answered

"Wrong!" Chris said, shocking the Fighters again.

"800" Jackson answered.

"Correct. Question four if Alaska had the same population density of Manhattan, how many people would live there?" There was a short pause. Chandler buzzed in.

"28?" She said, as if asking.

"Yes." Chris said, surprised that she had gotten it.

"Five, you breath an average of blank times a year."

"5 billion" Joeseph said. Chris nodded again.

Jackson

I knew that Joeseph was good. We have been friends for a while, since we grew up in the same town. But I didn't know he was that good! He is going to win this for us!"

"Well, I'm out of questions, so that must be the end of the game!" Chris said, tossing his cards to the ground. "Our final score is-" 

"Wait!" Dani yelled.

"What." Chris said, looking annoyed.

"Well, didn't we have a reward from winning the last challenge?" Janie said, stepping up beside Dani.

"Yes, but you'll need it next week, so I'm saving it for you." Chris said "You're welcome." he added. Dani rolled her eyes. "Like I was saying, the final score is Fighters 24, Rays 26." The Rays burst out in cheers. 

"YES!" Geni said, going over to Joeseph and high-fiving him. 

"Fighters, I'll see you in the elimination room."

A/N: I am so sorry it has taken me this long to type this out, I've been so busy with school that I haven't gotten a chance to work on it. 

I'm running low on ideas, so if you've got any let me hear them!
