You're in class, and you're feeling a little push. Somebody pushes a letter in your hand. From who is it? Let's take a look. There's no name. Although you know it: the letter is from your best friend. And how do you know that? There's only written: 'should we go to the Meadow after?' That is the shopping centre where you hang out together a lot. And you recognize her handwriting.
Couldn't be missing! It's obvious that the letter is from your friend. You know each other so well.
Jesus says in the Bible: 'I'm the good Shepherd, I know my own, and my own knows me.' (John 10:14). The sheep know the shepherd. Daily, they hear his voice, follow him out of the sheep cage. They recognize his voice out of thousands. They wouldn't follow a stranger! That's why it's so important that you read the Bible. Make sure to get to recognize His voice. Jesus is also your good shepherd. The Bible is Gods own word for you. So that you know what he says to you. The Bible is really the base for you to listen to him. So: how do I know if it is Jesus' voice I hear? If you know Him. If you talk to him everyday.
Lord, I want to get to know You better. Help me understand the Bible, so that I can start hearing Your voice better.
