It was late that evening when leon finally returned to the palace, he had spent most of the day wandering aimlessly around the grounds trying to calm his still raging nerves. The high angelic court would surely try and retaliate against him for what he had done. Casting aside his duties and immortality was a grave thing to do, angels who rejected orders were always banished forever in the dark relm. Fallen angels could not exist on the same plane as holy ones, the council feared corruption from the hands of those who could not or rather would not obey their every whim.

Leon watched as the stars began to peak out from the darkness of the sky, they twinkled with such hope and wonder, closing his eyes he sighed and decided it was time to tell Roaslynn what had happened. Leon quickly ascended to the room he and his wife shared and taking one last deep breath he entered the room.

"Leon where have yo- Your halo?"

"I cast it aside"

"Why? What happened?"

Leon walked up to his wife and wrapped her in his arms

"The council would not listen to me, the refused to even hear a word rosalynn." Leon paused letting the silence envelope their ears

"They wanted me to kill our daughter." His words were anguished and she could hear the tightness in his voice as if the air from his chest had been stolen from him

"I could never...I couldn't....I." Roaslynn held him tight as she listened to his heartbeat.

"I know my love, I know your heart better than anyone."

They embraced for a long moment in silence before breaking apart to look at one another.   Rosalynn looked at her husband with grief stricken eyes.

"What will they do to you?" She glanced at naydia sleeping in her crib "What will they do to us?"

Leon gave her hand a half hearted squeeze, "I will not put it past the council to try and punish me but I will not put you or naydia in harms way, you should leave tonight for the coven."

"Not without you!" She clinged to his shoulders.

"I can not say for certain if they will follow me, if so I may be putting not just you and naydia at risk but all of your coven sisters, the wives of our friends."

"They cannot get beyond our magic." She sniffled.

"Maybe not the court themselves but what if they seek the assistance of another witch Rosalynn?"

She wrapped her arms around herself and paced over to Naydias crib she knew he was right, plenty of solo witches had nothing to lose by destroying another coven. It only took one time for them to slip up and they could lose everything. It was bad enough every human wanted to hang them out of fear and made up rumors. Though she didn't like it, rosalynn knew she was going to have to leave in the cover of darkness with their daughter. Alone. Turning around she faced leon.

"Promise me you will come as soon as you can." She sternly looked at him waiting for his reply, leon walked over to her softly stroking her cheek with his fingertips

"I promise." He cupped her face just in time to catch the tears that escaped her beautiful violet eyes and kissed them of her lips. "As soon as I can." He whispered.
