Chapter Six: Building Up

"Pictures I'm living through for now, trying to remember all the good times. Our life was cutting through so loud. Memories are playing in my dull mind. I hate this part, paper hearts. And I'll hold a piece of yours. Don't think I would just forget about it." I sung as I layed on my bed and looked up at the ceiling. I played with the cord of my headphones, with a smile on my face. It was Saturday afternoon and I was thinking about the dat I had with Gerald tonight. I was going to have a blast. At least, I hope so.

But right now, I was waiting on Donte to get here so we could finish his first lesson. Yes, we were still on Confidence. He had came over to my house everyday after school since Saturday and I still couldn't get him to say 'I look good.' I think it's time for me to try another trick up my sleeve, since what I was doing wasn't working.

There was a knock on my door and it slowly opened to reveal Donte and the cutest little girl I've ever seen in my entire life. I sat up on my bed and smiled while taking my head phones out of my ears.

"Hey, your mom let me up." He said and I smiled.

"That's fine. In the mean time, care to tell me what this little cutie's name is?" I said standing and walking towards them.

"This is my cousin, Hailey. She turned three years old today and she wanted to hang with me." He said and she smiled up at me.

"Well, hello. It's nice to meet you Hailey. I'm Anastasia."

"How old are you?" She asked giving me a toothy grin, only causing me to laugh.

"I'm seventeen years old." I said and she made a face before responding to me.

"You're old." She said and I played like I was offended and crossed my arms and pouted, only making her laugh.

"You're going to get old to you know?" I said and she crossed her arms.

"But you're gonna get older." She said and I stood so I was back to level with Donte.

"I like her. She's got something I'd like to call spunk. She'll be getting all of the guys when she gets older.

"Boys have cooties." She said making a disgusted face.

"That's what you think now sweet heart. But um, are you ready to get started? I think I'm going to try something new with you today." I said walking out my room and down the hall.

"Yeah, and you think? Why aren't you sure?"

"Because it just came to my mind a minute ago. No questions asked. You're still on lesson one. You're slow poking and this is the first time I've actually did the whole package deal, with giving someone lessons and the makeover and whatever else it takes to be with the person of their dreams. You need to pick the pace, so we're trying something new today. So come on down the mirror room." I said and he followed me. I could feel him rolling his eyes, but he'll get over it.
