My eyes widened at the sight of the beach. There was floating Chinese lanterns, there were white candles, and roses everywhere. The girls were in white dresses sitting in baby seats on a blanket and Niall stood in between them in a tux, his hair done in it's usual style and he was holding a bouquet of pink roses.
"Oh my god, Niall, what is this?" I asked breathless walking towards him.
"Just a small surprise, do you like it?" He wondered handing me the flowers. I took them and smelled the sweet smelling flowers.
"Thank you" I grinned. He led me to the blanket where the girls were sitting. Niall pulled out the picnic basket from behind the girls seats. He pulled out strawberries, grapes, orange slices, meats and a champagne bottle. I sat on my knees and watched Niall fill our plates.
"Alright Mr. Horan what's with the romantic dinner?" I wondered munching on a strawberry, watching him with curious eyes. He smirked as he poured the champagne in two champagne glasses and handed me one.
"This time last year about 6 1/2 minutes ago was when we saw each other for the first time in 4 years that we saw each other, cheers, love" he explained and we touched our glasses together.
"Cheers" I smiled and took a small sip. He smiled and his eyes glittered, they glittered just like how they used too. It was back, those eyes were the blue sparkling ones I missed, and swore I would bring back to life.
"Where do you think we would be if stuff didn't happen between you and Louis?" Niall asked after a while of him and I sitting back laughing and talking.
"Probably living here or in your LA home, being happy and raising the girls" I replied. In fact that's what I would think about when I would go to bed at night.
"What about you?" I wondered.
"Thinking about our wedding, raising the girls, and maybe planning another baby" he replied while looking directly in my eyes. I gave him a small smile and looked down. I heard him shuffle and I felt his finger hook under my chin and lifted it so I could look up at him.
"Dance with me?" he asked in a whisper.
"There's no music" I giggled.
"You don't need music to dance sometimes, you just follow the beat to your heart" he explained.
"That's cheesy" I laughed. He grinned and we got up. He led me a few steps away from the blanket, and we turned and faced each other. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist, pulling me gently to him. He started us off and we were suddenly dancing. He would twirl me, dip me or sometimes we would just move slowly in circles. Just the whole time we were dancing we kept eye contact. I am falling for Niall again, but wait, did I just go from guy to guy just because they were not like Niall? It was because I love him. I admit it, I love Niall!
"Niall" I whispered.
"Yes sweetie?" he wondered.
"I love you" I murmured.
"I love you, too" he whispered. I smiled and cupped his face in my hands, getting on my toes and brushing my lips over his.
"Then that makes up my mind" h said more to himself. I raised an eyebrow and wondered what he meant.
"Remember when we were younger and you talked about your dream proposal?" he asked. I slowly nodded letting in what he said sink in.
"Floating Chinese lanterns, to wear a beautiful dress, picnic style dinner, a dance" he said slowly. I looked around, floating Chinese lanterns, Niall and I just had a picnic dinner, I'm in a beautiful dress, we are dancing...oh my goodness! Niall stopped and went down on one knee. My hands flew to my mouth as I stared at him in shock.
"I'm going to do this right Cindy, I love you so much. When I met you I could not have imagined what our relationship would evolve into, or how much you could mean to me, although from the second I met you I knew that you were very special. Now I know how very special you really are and am so in love with you. You've taken me to a place that I couldn't have believed possible. Let's continue this forever, building the perfect life, and growing old together, sit on a porch watching our kids grow, our grandchildren. I'll be your knight in shining armour, there to protect you from all that life can throw at you. Be my wife, and give me the privilege of being your husband, always and forever". Tears slid down my cheeks as I listened to every word he said, it was like being asked for the first time. I knew then for sure, and this time without thinking about anyone else but my children that if I said yes then this would not be a mistake. My babies will finally be with their daddy, and I'll have my man, my knight in shining armour. It seems I couldn't make any words leave my lips so instead I bent down wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him. Now this was a kiss that I could say that I felt fireworks, I felt explosions. I felt everything they explained in love stories that I thought was all lies.
"Is this a yes?" he wondered when I pulled back. I nodded still not able to form any words. He smiled a huge smile and let go of me pulling something out of his jacket.
"This belonged to my grandmother and before she passed she gave it to me to propose to that one special women" he explained opening the dark green velvet case. It was a traditional Irish engagement ring, with two hands holding together a heart and the heart was a diamond.
"Oh Niall" I whispered as he took the ring out and placed it on my left forefinger. He stood up and pulled me into his arms.
"I love you, Cindy" he said sincerely.
"I love you too, Niall" I smiled. With those words we sealed them with a kiss. This time, this minute, this is where I knew nothing would stand in our way. If anything did, then we would face them together, because now Niall was going to be my life, my husband, my forever.
