Chapter Five

Aiden looked at me as if I somehow grew an extra head. And I even checked, patting my hair. Nope. Only one. Why was he so completely shocked and surpised? Isn't it normal to want to be marked by your mate? It's evidence that he's mine, and that I'm spoken for.

He looked over my body and frowned when he took in my broken leg. He shook his head slowly and glance back to my eyes. "I will once your leg is healed, darling. It will be better than ever by tomorrow." I fely my mouth fall open as I stared at him. Tomorrow?! How in the world could my leg heal that quickly?! As if he understood my face expression, he explained, "Jimmy did a really good job healing you. Plus he gave you some of my blood. Having Alpha blood in your system will quicken the healing process." Again, my mouth was hanging open.

"Blood transfusion?" I glaced at his arm to see he had a bandage in the crease of his elbow. He smirked and reached over to touch my cheek. "I'm sorry, Aiden." He must be extremely weak and incoherent if I now have some of his blood. Blood transfusions nearly knock people out!

He raised an eyebrow and then kissed my nose. "Summer, you don't seem to understand. I will give up my leg, arm, life or anything else for you. Blood is no big deal. I can barely feel a difference." My heart skipped a beat at his words. I swear, sometimes he's just too kind towards me. I didn't deserve it.

"Well, hmm. Do you think you could take me upstairs. I'd like to see the house that I'm living in." His eyes beamed with delight at the mentioning of me living here. And as quick as he could without hurting me, he lowered my leg and picked me up bridal style. I couldn't help but snuggle into his arms and kiss his neck. He carried me upstairs and I was struck by a bright light.

I moaned, closed my eyes and burried my face into his shoulder. He chuckled and stopped walking. Why? What's wrong? I lifted my head and saw that people were watching us. I bit my bottom lip and gave a small smirk. 

"Er..." I looked at Aiden. He held me close and then walked me to a couch where he laid me down and left. I whimpered, feeling abandoned. How could he leave me alone with complete strangers?! I shuddered, feeling all their eyes on me.

"Summer." I turned my head to the voice to see is was Kyle. He smiled and walked over, his dark brown wavy hair looking absolutely perfect. He has hazel eyes and a goofy smile. It made me feel more relaxed. And damn was he muscular and tall! Just like Aiden. "I'm Kyle. Welcome to the Kimerling pack." He grabbed my hand and pressed a kiss to my knuckles. A flush heated my neck and cheeks.

"Thank you." I murmured. He just stared at me...along with everyone else. I acknowledge and soon, they were all introducing themselves at once. My head swam and I became dizzy. I rubbed my forehead, causing a growl to come from someone's chest.

"Guys! You're overwhelming her! One at a time!" Kyle hollered. I was extremely grateful for him. A gorgeous red head walked over to me, shook me hand and smiled. 

"I'm Kiera! It's nice to have you join us, Summer! We're going to be the best of friends!" She hugged me gently and I laughed lightly. She was simply sweet. With green eyes and freckles. 

"I'm Jacob, Kiera's mate." Jacob introduced, only giving me a firm nod. He said nothing else, wrapped an arm around Kiera and walked her away from me. Hmph. I can tell I'm already on his bad side... He looked like Kyle, more so than Aiden. Tall, dark and muscular.
