The unnoticed girlfriend

The Distance

Period one passed like a minute then I went to period two which is math and the math teacher assigned me to sit next to Taylor Austin. Taylor is Leslie's boyfriend . I don't like to call him her boyfriend because the relationship they have is complicated.

"Hey there" Taylor spoke to me and I had to pretend not to hear him it's not anything personal but I just don't like the guy. After a second I felt bad and I know Leslie will give me a piece of her mind for not talking to Ty ." oh! are you talking to me sorry I didn't hear you what were you saying?" I asked turning to his side. " um it's nothing I was just saying hi if you don't mind I mean we are sitting next to each other I just thought we could get to know each other that's all." oh yeah like I don't know you already I thought to myself.

"Mr. Austin would you like to share with the class what's trending cause I see you are doing a great job updating Ms.Morris with some news so I'd like for you to share you important news with class please" the math teacher said out loud "It's nothing sir I was just saying hi to her sir." Ty replied to Mr.Smith."OK if you have nothing to say I'd like to start with the class now"

I sat in math quietly thinking over and over again, I talked to Leslie about Taylor and now she kinda of not talking to me as mush as she used to. So now i'm thinking maybe I should give her space, she should have time for herself and think about it maybe she'll see what I tried to tell her so after math class I went straight to the cafeteria without her.

 I sat there alone and then suddenly out of nowhere James Harte was sitting in front of me. "Hi , if 'm not mistaken you're Bella right?" James asked me with the enthusiastic smile I love seeing this smile on him but when I saw that smile I remember how Leslie and I used to fantasize ourselves as James's girlfriends and laugh about it . In a split second I realized that Leslie was not here and it was just James and me." Hi, yes it is me James you're not mistaken" the question was what was he doing here at the cafeteria sitting with me interrupting my alone time without Leslie. "I've been waiting for you to be alone so I could talk to you and finally it seems like god has answered my prayers"he finally said when I was silent for a good minute.

The bell rang and I started to leave

 " Which class do you have now?" James asked me trying to get my tray of untouched food. I didn't know there was this side of him but maybe it's just rumors and people will always talk about you no matter what you do. " I have Photography, why do you ask?" I said  

 " Oh I thought you had a spare or something and how about after school?.... how about after school if you're free we could go somewhere only if you're free, though" Oh my God! this guy is not going to leave me alone I thought to myself.

" I have an English presentation for Wednesday that I have to finish " I replied " then I'll see you at your locker at 3:10 sharp. don't ditch me'' he said while running to his class after he hugged me I wonder how he did that in what seemed like a second.

Photography and Spanish passed so fast and I was debating in my head what excuse I'll give James I mean it's not like I don't like him, but it's different when you see a guy from a distance and fantasize on how you're going to be with and actually talking to that person. Now he sits on my cafeteria table takes me to my locker and wants to hang out what should i do with this guy?

Maybe I shouldn't tell him anything.  Maybe I need some more friends and maybe hanging out with James Harte won't be a bad idea after all.

"Your carriage awaits my lady" James said just to leave me wondering where the formalities comes from "my mom  picks me up ..." I replied forgot for a minute that I was supposed to go home with him this evening. wow Isabella first day of school and you're taking a boy home. But it's not like I asked him to come "have you forgotten our little study date" He murmured. Since when did this become a study date? I asked myself. "Oops! I almost forgot, so are you ready?" I replied quickly so that he won't notice my hesitation.  "I just need to put my stuff in my locker and I'll meet you outside"
