[From the POV of Kane]

"Lilian, we must follow them," "Look for mother." I said.

"I miss mother," "Why did they take her?" Lilian cried.

"I don't know, but we must go, now." I said.

The small group pack up their belongings and head out towards the direction of the pencils.

(Italized words mean that Kane is writing in his book.)

Our mother had always told us to keep a journal with us at all times, so I kept mine for keeping track of the days and stuff....

On the journey, Lilian kept crying and crying. I understand why, but she needs to grow up and know the dangers of this world. She's just too immature.

Anyways, this new world is weird looking and odd. I've never seen anything like this before. It had weird rock formations such as petrified looking erasers and pencils. I know why they look like erasers...

They probably have some type of freeze ray or something, I don't know. For now, I won't tell Lillian about it.

For what it seemed like two days, we were walking through the endless rocky hills and plains to get closer to the pencils home... I didn't think our mother was living, so I didn't mourn too much.

"Kane, I saw light emitting in the distance." said one man.

"We're getting closer to those pencil bastards." said another.

Suddenly, we heard gunshots.  We ran in panic of thinking about our stolen family members.

"Ahhhhh, no, no, no..." screamed Lilian.

"Lilian, shut the fuck up, you bitch." I shouted.

Lilian started crying and screaming more. She started to freak out.

I tackled and slapped her in the mouth to quiet her. I scratched her knees, elbows, and face when she hit the floor. She cried more...

"You're just like dad," "Get off of me, jerk!!" Lilian screeched.

I back up off of her and was ashamed of myself...

Everyone stared and gasped at me. I wanted to kill himself.

Am I really like dad...?

For the rest of the journey, Lilian and I didn't speak to each other. We were all exhausted, so we camped out by a gathering of petrified erasers. In the morning, we continued to walk towards the pencils. We came across two erasers, a baby and a women. The women's eyes were torn out of her sockets. The baby was ripped in half with it's face smashed in.

I was worried that the woman was mother, but it hasn't been proven otherwise. Anyways, until then.

Lilian threw up, but I toughened up. We continued until we saw a large gate with two carriages holding erasers. The gate opened and they went through...
