Drip Drip Drip
The sound of drippy pipes around me as I sat in my chair. Two desert eagles with silencers on both my hips, and my Beretta M9 in hand. My backpack was full of back up guns and ammunition and my sister was asleep on the floor in front of me. I haven't slept in days; I might even be sleep deprived but she's safe and that's all that matters. The sun came up and I watched the streams of daylight coming in through the cracks around the warehouse we'd taken shelter in. I could smell the stench of death streaming in from outside as well and it made my stomach churn. Those foul, rotting creatures roaming around outside while those of us who are left have to fight to stay alive and avoid becoming just like them. If it ever came down to it, I'd shoot myself and be their next meal before I let myself turn into one of those things. What they are.....it's worse than death. As the sun rose more, my sister began to stir in her sleep. I watched her as her eyes slowly opened. She looked up at me when suddenly we heard bumps against the door. She jumped up and stared at me with worry in her eyes. I looked over at her with reassurance as I whispered......
T- It's ok Sash, you know they bump the door sometimes, they can't get in
S- Are you sure?
T- Positive, they aren't strong enough to break that lock
S- (sighs) alright sis well good morning
T- Morning
She smiled at me and stretched as she rose up and walked over to our water pail. She washed her face and gargled some of our mouthwash. After that, she used the bath pail to freshen herself up. After she finished, she walked over to me and said.....
S- Alright, you go ahead and freshen up. I'll keep watch
T- I'm fine
S- Go ahead, Ty, I got this
T- (sighs) Fine
She pulled out her gun with a smile and sat down as I walked over to the water pail and washed my face. Afterwards, I washed my mouth with the mouthwash and freshened up. I made my way over to our boxes of food and grabbed some stuff for us to eat. I walked back over and my sister watched me as she said.....
