Well aren't you an awkward cutie?

(Special thanks to my friend @SanityFroxau for editing this! You're the best :) )

Yurio couldn't concentrate today in class, he was too ecstatic to concentrate. Today after school would be the very first time Yurio would visit Otabek's house. Sure, it's been weeks, and every weekend Beka would come over, but now Yurio would maybe be able to snoop around Beka's room and find out more about him.

Yurio never met his parents before either, so this is a thrilling and exciting experience. He chewed on his cat pencil as he stared at the clock, waiting for the school day to end.

~ Yurio's POV ~

"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRING!!!!" yelled the school bell loudly. I jumped up from my seat and grab my backpack and coat from my cubby, putting them on as quick as I could.

I could hear Beka laughing from the cubbies on the other side of the room. He was taking his time putting on his cool leather jacket and backpack, snickering when he saw I was literally jumping out of excitement.

I kept bouncing from one foot to the other, and once Beka was done I grabbed his arm and pulled him to the line we had to get in before the teacher would walk us out. Once we all walked out I kept looking around, wondering if I'd be able to spot Beka's parents.

I grabbed Beka's hand, before asking, "Are they here? I can't see 'em."

He squeezed my hand, and nodded.

"Just got here. Come on." He pulled me over to a car, and opened the door for me. I got in the car and sat down, immediately putting on my seat belt. Beka did the same, before speaking to the woman at the wheel. I'm guessing that's his mom, 'cuz she looks a lot like him but older.

"Otabek, is this your friend Yurio?" She asked, to which he nodded. She looked at me and smiled before saying, "Hey there, Yurio. I'm Otabek's mother."

Beka talked to her with words I didn't understand, so I'm gonna also guess he's speaking whatever they speak in Kazakhstan.  Whatever they were saying, I heard Beka say my name in between the foreign words. I looked over at him confused, and then saw his mother smile before starting the car and driving.

~When they get to Otabek's place~

Otabek had a normal looking home, and when we arrived a tall man greeted me with a warm smile.

'This must be his dad.' I thought before remembering what my Dad always said about first impressions, and reached my hand out to shake his.

"Nice to meet you, sir." Saying that felt so weird to me but I had to be formal if I wanted Beka's dad to like me. He looked kind of impressed when I shaked  his hand, like I was smart for my age.

"You must be Yurio. Otabek has told us so much about you." He said cheerfully, which made me wonder even more of what Beka says about me.

So I asked him, "What did he say?"

"Well, he said you had a bit of sass to you, but you're generally a nice kid with a good heart." Beka's dad answered, which made Beka kind of... flustered?

I'll be honest, that was the first time I saw Otabek embarrassed, so I couldn't help but laugh a bit.

"Well, we're gonna go play in my room now, Dad." He said quickly, grabbing my hand and dragging me away. When we were in his room, I  couldn't help but gape at what I saw. There was a giant tiger plush in his room, and a leopard print jacket next to it.

"Are those yours?" I asked Otabek, pointing at them.

"Actually, that's supposed to be for you." He mumbled, looking flustered again. "You're my first friend, and I heard that friends give eachother gifts so...I got you those."

I couldn't help but grin at that. Otabek acted all tough and careless, but really he was just an awkward boy that didn't know what to do when it came to friends. I hugged him as thanks, and he awkwardly hugged back.
