Worldly pain in the ass

(Authors note: I am aware that the grammar is quite off. But thats what happens when you fall asleep in english class. XD)

If you're wondering what happened, then let me start from the beginning, my name is Chase Rodrigues, im 14 and I'm an angelus/syreni, an angel/mermaid. But I wasn't always like this.

It all started 2 years ago when my family went on a 3 month vacation to Greece with my best friend and I, One day my parents let us go scuba diving, While we were diving we came across a small sea cave. When we went to check it out we discovered that it had a small dry cave inside with a pool that led us into a dormant volcano. When we got out of the water we stood there studying the crystal-like rocks for hours ,I saw that it was night and that we had to get back to my family before they start to freak. We got into the pool and were ready to go back under when suddenly the water started bubbling as the moon passed over us. We try not to panic while this happened, but as soon as it was over we swam back to our hotel and tried to forget it ever happened.

The next morning we went to a small shore near a small cliff where hardly anyone goes to swim. When we got in the water, we stood at the edge of the ocean and looked at it. It was a sunny and warm day with a gentle breeze. Perfect for swimming, we walked into the water and stood there, suddenly we collapsed for no apparent reason, and as I looked down and I saw that I had a dark purple mermaid tail.

"What the....?" I said in amazement and wonder.

"Dude, am I dreaming or do we have fish tails instead of legs?!!"

"We have tails." I responded in disbelief as I kept staring at the tail.

"Lets get out of the water and figure this out" I told Marco after a brief silence.

When we got out, we dried off the tail and it transformed back into our legs, we both freaked out and backed away from the water.

We went back to our hotel.

"Lets stay away from the water until we figure this out, Okay?" I told Marco,

"Deal." he responded with a determined look.

"Should we tell anyone?" He asked while staring into space.

"No, not unless its the only choice." I responded sternly.

The next morning we woke up and got dressed in running shorts and a tank top. We went for a run to the cliffs where we went yesterday. Once we got to the top, we sat on the ledge and breathed in the fresh salty ocean air and as we started to relax. Suddenly I felt like I had a backpack on and I heard a light thud come from behind us, we both looked and we didn't see anything so we started to turn back around, but I stopped because I was looking at a pair of white wings sprouting from Marco's back.

"Um... Dude, you have wings sprouting from your back!" I told Marco

"You do too!!!"

"What!!!" I looked over my shoulder and saw he was right, I had large purple angel wings. And he had pure white wings.

"First tail, now wings.What happened??"

"It has something to do with that weird pool we saw a few days ago." I told Marco.

"First we're teenage mermen, now we're teenage angels?" he said in confusion.

"Pretty much." I responded awkwardly.

"Wanna test them out?" he said with an evil glint in his eyes.

"We dont know how to use them!" I said nervously.

"What better way to find out than to fly!"

But i looked over the edge and saw that we were really high above the water, i backed away trying not to panic.
