Chapter One: Logan's Tattoo Shop

Hello people who are reading Rebels with a Cause. This is only my second book that I've written so be kind. It's probably gonna have grammar mistakes and whatnot. Feel free to leave comments with helpful tips and remember to vote. Alrighty I'll stop talking now so you can read it haha. Below this is Dark Horse by Katy Perry.

Ava's Pov

So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know whatcha falling for

I rolled over in my bed searching for my phone. That was blasting a little to loud for my liking at this time of morning; which is 7:35 am.

I answer the phone with a groggily voice because I already know who it is by the ringtone I set. It was my best friend Amalia.
"Hello". I said rolling on my back.
"Heyyy Ava, Do you wanna hang out at Logan's Tattoo shop today" She asked.

I took a minute to think it over. Do I really wanna hang out at Amalia's boyfriend's Tattoo shop today? After contemplating for a few seconds I finally gave in.

"Yeah I'll come, about what time are you picking me up" I asked. I have yet to get my drivers license and I'm about to turn 18 on July 19. I know pathetic right but what can I do about it.

My mom's a stripper which means I only really see her in the morning when she's getting ready for "work" and my Dad sleeps all day because he took the night shift for Mike's Mining Company.

I tried to ask him once if he could take me to the DMV place so I could get it and his exact words were "Ava honey just catch a ride from Amalia". Now that's exactly what I'm stuck doing.

"Earth to Ava. Did you hear what I said" she asked. Oops I guess I got kinda sidetracked there so I responded with an "Nope, not a clue. Do you mind repeating what you just said" I asked.

" I said be ready by 11". She said. " Alrighty talk to you when you get here then bye" I said.

"Bye" Amalia said.

I hang up the phone and laid in bed for a couple of more minutes. I looked at the time on my phone and realized it was 10:45. I began to panic I guess I must have doze off because I only have 15 minutes before Amalia has to pick me up.

I jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom. It's a good thing my room has a connecting bathroom because the only other bathroom in this house is down stairs. Which I definitely don't have time for.

I did my business and then turned the shower on. While it was getting warm I brushed my teeth and washed my face. When I was finished with that. I jumped in the shower and washed up. When I decided I was clean enough I turned the shower off and wrapped myself in a towel. I walked back into my room and into the closet to see what I was gonna wear. ( The picture on the top is what she decided to wear).

By the time I finished getting dress. I hear a knock at the front door signaling that Amalia is here. I run down the stairs while grabbing my black heels and I'm out the door.

"Hey" I said to Amalia while getting in the car. She simply replied with a "Hey" and we were off to the Tattoo shop. 15 minutes later we arrive at Logan's shop.

A couple of hours went by we were just hanging out making plans to see that movie Everything Everything when a boy walks in. "Hi what can I do for you today?" Logan asked. Whoever this boy is he is obviously drunk and probably on something else.

Logan asks what does he wants and he lazily points to me and says, I want the pretty girl to give me a tattoo. And you know me being me I never back down from a challenge. I pick-up the needle and ask him what he wants and where he wants it.

He simply says I want this picture of my mom on my ribcage, she just died.
