Type of Short Story: Storyful Poem

May you rest in peace, mysteriously fuzzy plant.

A plant grown from the ground, from the dirt.

A plant grown up strong, two hands from palm to finger.

A plant grown up mysterious, an unknown species to me.

A plant with a fuzzy stem, unique shaped leaves.

Discussed with Mantis,

What it was was amiss.

Thinking it was like another but then saw that it was not

As it grew up a lot.

Almost every lunch I went to visit,

And sometimes too I'd touch it.

Its leaves were soft

And afterwards I'd jump aloft.

Days passed with peace and growth,

And I sweared an oath.

To watch it grow up

Until the school year's end or it sprouts a bud.

Though stopped in my track,

There came a smack.

There the plant laid,

Under the building's shade.

Pale and with bugs,

I just wanted to give it a hug.

The whole plant's bed filled with water,

It was ruthlessly slaughtered.
