<Mitch's POV>
"So are you ready?" I ask Autumn.
"Where are you taking me?" she questions while walking down the stairs.
"It's a surprise!" I say with a grin spreading across my face. "Come on!"
"Where the hell would we even go at this time?" she says, trying to get it out of me.
It is 10:15 exactly.
"Oh come on already, you'll see when we get there!" I say grabbing her hand and pulling her outside with me.
We pull up to a big building. There were no cars or people in sight, perfect. "Where the hell are we?". I don't say anything, I just get out of the car and open her door.
"Come on, we only have a little bit of time.". She hesitantly grabs my hand as I help her out of the car. She slowly takes steps, trying to figure out where we are. We make out way to one of the windows. As she peeks inside, a smile spreads across her face. "Ice skating!" she squeals. I grab out my screw driver and press the tip on one of the screws that holds the window in place. "What the hell are you doing?" asks Autumn.
"I figured that if there was any way for us being alone, we had to break in." I say while unscrewing the window. It falls off and I climb in. Autumn sits there with her arms crossed, "Isn't this illegal?"
"Very." I respond. I hold out my hand for her. She rolls her eyes but finally grabs my hand. I help her through the wind.
<Autumn's POV>
We tie up our skates and wobble over to the gate. The ice looks completely untouched. Mitch steps onto it first with no hesitation. I look at my unbalanced feet as I slowly inch my foot over to the ice. With my first step, I start to fall but quickly feel arms around me hold me up. Mitch helps me to my feet and takes ahold of my hands. He starts to skate backwards.
By the end of the night, I learned to no fall on my but every second. And then all hell broke loose. Sirens echoes through the ice rink. Mitch grabbed me by my arm and pulled me to the gate. Footsteps approached quickly but I don't look behind me. I keep all my focus on Mitch. He leads me to the window we broke in from. "Climb through the window." Mitch says in a rushed tone.
"Not before you. Go!" I shove him. He knew that if he starts to argue, both of us will be caught. He crawls up through the window and I follow. Halfway through, I heard bullet shots. I quickly wiggle my way out of the window and we dash to the car. Next thing I know we are speeding down the street. I let out a big breath, "I cannot believe we did that." I giggle. Mitch looks over at me with a smile and it quickly fades. "Are you bleeding?" I look at my blood covers hands. My shirt is completely stained in red. There is a hole the size of a dime in my shirt just above my hip. The pain finally rushes over me.
<Danielle's POV>
*Ding Dong*
"I'll get it!" yells out Jason. I hear some mumbling and then my name is called, "Umm, Danielle?" says Jason.
"Yeah?" I ask as I approach the door. I am frozen in place. My feet feel glued to the floor. My mind became cluttered with memories. It flooded my brain as everything fit into pieces. But none of it matters, the only thing that matters is the face staring at me. Our eyes meet. A wicked smile spreads across her face. My eyebrows narrow. She slowly walks in, "You haven't changed a bit!" she says with a chuckle.
"Why are you here?" I say.
"Looking for Autumn, or course. Speaking of Autumn, where is that helpless girl?"
"You aren't going to touch a fucking hair on her head and I swear if you do I will-"
"You will what? Stare at me to death." she laughs. I snap. I run at her full speed and bring my fist to her face. The crunch of her nose echoes through my ears. She tumbles back but quickly regains her balance and charges at me. I jump to the side but she pulls me to the ground. I twist around and get out of her grip. I pull her up from the ground by her shirt collar. Her mouth is bleeding but she wipes it away and tries to take a swing at me. I grab her fist right before she hits me and I twist it. She screams in pain but I kick her in the stomach. She falls to the ground in agony. I look over to Jason who had been watching the whole thing. "What the hell just happened. I walk over to him and just place a kiss on his cheek, "Badass mode is what just happened."
<Autumn's POV>
My eyes peek open revealing a familiar face. A face I haven't seen in years. His eyes are teary. Panic strikes me and he notices. "Please Autumn, don't be scared! Let me explain!"
I muster up the courage to say, "D-dad?"
