It was about eleven o'clock, there wasn't a sound in the house besides the guitar that I was strumming, next door was silent. I could only assume that they were either asleep or out doing whatever it is they do. Winnie was in town at work. She works as the town vet and she is a the main reason we were even able to afford this house. I work as a baker in the bakery in town, I work the afternoon shift though. So I was given the task of going and talking to the lovely people next door. I was going to wait until it was twelve, but I decide to go a little earlier.
I set my guitar down and walk up to my room. I was only wearing my sweatpants and a tank top, so I decided to actually try and put some effort into my look. I take off my clothes and I look through my closet, looking for something nice. I was decided on my black ripped skinny jeans, a sheer shirt with birds all over it with a white tank top under it. I put on some mascara and a light color of eye shadow. I look at myself in the mirror, a nod.
"Lookin' good Infinity, lookin' good." I say, trying to make myself feel good about what was going to happen. I walk down the stairs and open the front door, stepping out. I look to the house next to ours and start walking over. I was hoping that they weren't total assholes. I step onto the sidewalk up to the door, taking deep breaths as I got closer and closer to meeting my neighbors. I step up the half step and look at the door for a second, thinking of turning around and going back home.
I shake my head and raise my hand, knocking on the door hard enough that one of them were to surely wake up. I stood in awkward silence for a moment, waiting for someone to answer. The door opened and a man with a black shirt answered. His shirt said security, so maybe he's a security guard at some company in town.
"May I help you?" he asked, his voice deep and raspy, probably from just waking up.
"Yes. Um, I was coming over to talk about the amount of noise coming from here early in the morning." I said, he looked at me like I was just being a complete creep."Oh, I'm sorry about that. The boys just got off the plane yesterday and they were pretty jet lagged. They are actually asleep right now." he said, looking over me for any sign that I might be a threat or something.
"Wait... You're not the owner of the house? So, you're just kind of the spokesman of the owners?" I say as I cross my arms and raise my eyebrow. He nods and stares at me like I'm reminding him of someone he knows.
"I'm sorry, but I would actually like to talk to one of the owners of the home instead of someone who just stays here every once in while." I say, putting as much sass as I can into my voice. The man sighs and looks behind him.
"Fine. But you have to wait out here and you can not say anything to anyone about who is here, okay?" he says, backing into the house. He shuts the door before I can come up with a reply. Why would I tell anyone about a few dudes living in a house with a buddy? I sigh and wait for someone to come back to the door so that I could talk to them.
A few minuets later, someone opens the door, stepping outside. I was sitting on the step, humming to myself and tapping a small beat on my legs. The person sits down next to me and clears his throat. I jumped a little bit and grab my chest dramatically.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack. You can't just sneak up on a person like that." I said, a bit over dramatically. The person chuckles and sighs.
"Sorry bout that, love. I heard that you have a problem about the noise we made early this morning." he said, his voice deep and raspy. He had a British accent and his voice was quiet and kind at the same time. I smile at this and turn to look at him. When I saw who it was, I was shocked to see who it was.
