Keith pushed his way through the foliage with his elbows, clutching Lance's limp body to his chest so he could at least protect is from the violent flora.
"Where are you taking us?"
Keith barked, still fully aware of the sound of guns being fired behind him ricocheting off the stone walls."Where am I taking Lance, I have no interest in you."
The alien curtly replied, ignoring the sound of guns and opting to walk towards a dark cave covered by large leaves."Watch it pal, I can still easily leave."
Keith snapped back, stopping abruptly. He didn't actually know if he could leave, but hey, the alien seemed to think so."No!" It replied in a high pitched voice, turning back to face Keith. It's eyes softened as he realised his tone. He coughed and cleared his throught before speaking again.
"I mean uh. . You can't leave, we have uh.. medicines! We can cure Lance much quicker than you can!" It chirped, before turning again and walking to the cave.
Although Keith doubted it, he did acknowledge that Lance needed immediate medical attention, so this weirdo was his only safe bet.
Before he started walking towards the cave after him though, a high pitched crackling sound came from his helmet.
It was loud. And it was annoying.
Keith gently placed Lance down, making sure that he was on his side, before tearing his helmet off.
Keith wasn't as good an engineer as Pidge or Hunk, or even Corran. But yeah, his helmet was pretty broken. Even a blind slug could see it, and Keith was surprised it took him this long to notice it.
A large crack from the back of the helmet down it's right side to just where the visor would be had formed.
Keith guessed it was from the explosion of the Black Lion sticking its nose in other people's business, literally.
Keith flipped it around to see if it was in the slightest was salvagable. It wasn't, if anything, it was worse on the other side.
He sighed at his defeat. Yet another thing he couldn't fix by just hitting it repeatedly with a sharp object.
A large boom followed by a mighty roar brought him back to his senses, and Keith quickly placed the helmet on Lances stomach before picking him up again.
The aliens head popped out from the entrance of the cave, and it cocked it's head in confusion.
"What are you doing? Hurry up before they find us!"
It ushered, it's tone borderline polite as it realized Keith might leave with Lance."Right, sorry."
Keith replied, quickly stepping after the alien and into the darkness. He could feel the stony floor underneath his boots grow more and more slippery, and the moisture from the cave walls was also something to notice.
And oh god the noise.
Keith could think of any scenario in a cave and this would be it, the classic 'drip drop' of any cave ever.
And although Keith was clearly struggling staying upright, the alien clearly had no problem walking these slimy caverns, used to it by now.
Keith cursed his luck as the alien had to turn around to check he was still following the moment Keith almost fell over.
Instead of laughing at him like Keith expected him to, the aliens eyes hardened and it strode back over to him.
"If you cannot secure Lance's safety, I will carry him."
It growled.
