Maia

After having a nice day on the beach, Ross decided that he wanted to eat out for dinner. So we walked down to the pier and looked at the array of diners. After walking up and down the pier a couple times, we ended up choosing an adorable little restaurant that was on the very end of the pier, it looked like nobody really new it was there.

When we walked in, we were greeted my the chime of a bell that was hung on the door. After the chime, a girl that was probably around 14, came running up to greet us.

"Hello and welcome to Jimmy's Jukebox! How may I help you?" Her name tag read Lainey.

"Table for two please." Ross said as he smiled cheekily. Omigod. That smile is the reason why I breathe!

Lainey eyed us up and down before grabbing the menus. Lainey eyeing us up like that gave me the weirdest feeling in the pit of my stomach. Like I haven't had that feeling in the longest time.

We followed her to a little booth fitted for two. She set down the two menus and rearranged the ketchup and mustard bottles.

"I'll be right back to take your orders." And with that, she quickly ran off to the kitchen.

"Well that was weird." Ross stated.

I don't answer. I don't really think I need to. She was clearly baffled by Ross's amazingly charming, god-like looks. And that's kinda upsetting for a married woman.

"What's wrong?!" Ross snaps me out of my thoughts.

I shake my head.

"Oh my god Maia come on! We just got here. Tell me what's wrong!"

"Do you not notice anything? That Lainey was clearly checking you out!"

"She was? But she's only like 14!"

"Oh wow. Really? You didn't notice? Well I sure did." I crossed my arms over my chest.

Ross gets up and walks over to my side of the table. He gets down onto his knees so that we are eye-to-eye. His face is so close to mine that I can feel him breathing. It takes all my willpower to not knock him over and kiss the life out of him.

"Maia?" He says calmly.

"Yes?"

"You know, I really don't notice any other girls. All I see is you. All I ever saw was you. All I'll ever see is you. So Maia, don't even think I look at other girls, because I don't. I'm totally oblivious to them, you know. They could flirt with me but I wouldn't notice. How could I? I've got Maia Lynch as my wife! For gods sake Maia, no one can compare to you!"

I can feel the tears falling down my face. That was the most beautiful thing ever!! Ross is waiting for my response but I can't get any words out.

"Ross?"

"Yea?"

"Don't even get me started on-" I'm cut off by the sound of a loud crash, followed by a girls scream.

Ross immediately jumps up and runs into the kitchen, I follow close behind.

The sight I'm welcomed by isn't anything I wanted to see. So I instantly back out to let Ross deal with it.

"Maia!!" Ross's panicked scream scares me.

"What!?"

"Call 911 right now!!"

I don't even answer him, I just run to my purse, grab my phone, and dial 911. The lady at the hospital answers, and I tell her to send an ambulance over immediately. She confirms that the ambulance will be here in less than 3 minutes. I hang up and run back to the kitchen area.

"Ambulance is coming, baby!" I yell to Ross.

I barely get an answer from him before Lainey's cries fill the small building.

I can't stand it anymore. The poor girl is freaking crying and all I'm doing is protecting my brain from the sight. So I barge in. The sight in front of me is gut-wrenching. All my hatred towards her just flies out the window. It looks like the knife case fell in/on her. A few pans must have fallen on her as well, because it looks like her nose is smushed in from one.

Ross is kneeling beside her, trying to pull some big knifes out of various places on her body. I don't know how much longer I can take this sight.

All I hear is the sound of sirens, and people running into kitchen, before I black out.
