True Love : A Raia Story

Chapter 3

Ross

I wake up next to my beautiful wife. Her eyes are still closed but she hasn't let go of me.

I don't ever want her to let go of me.

She is mine.

I am hers.

Nothing will ever change that.

For awhile, I stare at her beautiful face. I gently touch her nose, close my eyes, and fall back asleep.

When I wake up, Maia is no longer by my side. I reach out for her, but find nothing but coldness.

I sit up in bed.

I really hate it when she leaves me in bed alone like that in the morning.

I look around and see that Maia's pajamas are all over the floor.

She probably changed.

I get up and walk out into the living room.

Maia is in a light yellow dress, I can see her baby blue bathing suit underneath.

She's standing in the kitchen cooking breakfast.

I quietly run up to her and wrap my arms around her from behind.

She screams and turns around.

"Ross! You scared me!"

"I'm sorry baby!" I laugh.

She sighs.

"What are you doing?" I say, noticing the toast with eggs on it.

"I'm making breakfast to take and eat on the beach."

I smile.

"You like that?" she says while laughing.

"Mmm yes." I kiss her cheek.

She puts the toast with eggs on plates, puts them on a tray, and walks towards the door.

I follow her out the door and onto the soft sand.

It's around 9:00 .

Together we sit in the sand and let the waves wash up around our feet.

After we finish our breakfast, we walk out into the water.

Maia takes off her dress and runs into the waves.

I take off my shirt and run after her.

She pushes me into an oncoming wave.

As I fall, I grab her hand and pull her down with me.

After the wave passes, we stand up and laugh.

"Oh Ross." Maia laughs

I laugh.

"Do you remember what you promised me last night?"

Hmm.. What did I promise her last night?

Oh yes! I remember.

"I believe I do."

Maia smiles and pulls me back towards the shallow water.

Before she can walk any farther, I spin her around.

She looks at me and smiles.

I wrap my arms around her waist and kiss her.

She giggles.

I pull away and look into her beautiful brown eyes.

"Don't stop!" she moans.

I smile and kiss her again.

After a couple more kisses, we end up building a sand castle.

I sit in the sand, my hands are busy filling buckets full of sand and dumping them back on the ground.

I turn and look at Maia.

She's down by the waters edge collecting sea shells for our castle.

How did I ever end up with a girl as perfect as her?

Honestly.

You have no idea how messed up my life would be if we didn't end up together.

As much as I hate the thought of not being with her every second of my life, I still wonder what kind of deranged maniac I would've become.

I shake my head to clear the awful nightmares that will keep me up for the rest of my life.

Maia looks over at me with a worried expression.

I jump up to my feet and run to her side.

That's all I need, a simple look of worried, discomfort, sadness, etc, for me to be instantly by her side.

"What's the matter?!" I nearly yell at her.

She just looks at me blankly

"Maia! tell me what's wrong!"

Nothing.

"Maia.." I open my arms and she instantly walks into them.

I feel her breathing heavily.

I know that something is wrong.

Why won't she tell me?

I place my hands her shoulders and pull her back enough to look into her big brown eyes.

"Baby.. Tell me what's the matter."

"R-Ross?.." She hesitates.

"Yes sweetie?"

"D-did you f-forget about our a-anniversary?"

I pull her back into a hug and rest my head on top of her hair.

"Why in the world do you think that I would ever forget the second best day of my life?"

"Second best?"

"Yes. The best day if my life is everyday. Because I spend everyday with you. But our wedding was with out a doubt a the second best!"

I feel her tear fall on my bare chest.

She pulls back and looks at me in the eyes.

"I love you."

And that's all it takes for me to crash my lips onto hers.
