Ross

I have no idea why Maia wants to go to visit Lainey. I mean, if we knew her a little bit better it would make sense. But no, we don't. So that makes no sense.

"Ross!" Maia snaps me out of my thoughts.

"What?"

"Are you even focusing on where we're going?" She giggles

"Well, yes. I'm pretty sure I am."

"Oh really? Because we just passed the exit." She starts laughing

"We did not!" I emphasize where we are with my hand. Only then do I notice that we did miss the exit! Whoops.

When Maia sees my expression, she laughs even harder. "See I told you!"

"Whatever.."

"What were you thinking about?" She says after I take the next exit to make a u-turn to get to the hospital.

"Take a guess, miss genius." I reply sarcastically

"Were you thinking about why I want to go see Lainey..?"

"Ok, now you officially have me creeped out. What are you physic!?" That actually doesn't surprise me that she knew what i was thinking. We are married after all, and we know each other like the back of our hands.

"Haha. Yes I totally am." She deadpans.

"Thanks for telling me! That explains so much!" I joke. We both laugh.

I take the exit to get to the hospital.

We enter the hospital parking lot, park the car, and get out.

Maia gets out and skips over to my side of the car like a little kid.

"Are you ready to go?" She asks in a little kid voice.

"Yes baby." I laugh and take her hand.

Hand in hand we skip towards the hospital.

"We really shouldn't be happy considering that we're going to the hospital to see a hurt person." Maia says.

"Yeah. But at least we can have fun in sad moments, right?"

"True." She giggles.

She looks at me and smiles,

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" She jumps up and plants a kiss on my cheek.

"Oh don't even get me started on how much I love you!" I kiss her back.

"Ok let's get prepared for the death glares everyone will give us."

"Why because we're a happy couple coming into a sad place?"

"Exactly!"

I open the door and let her go in first, then follow behind her. And sure enough, there are the death glares.

We try to ignore them as much as possible.

We approach the lady behind the counter and ask for Lainey's room. Her name tag reads STACY.

"Are you family?" Stacy asks.

"No, but we were there during the incident and just wanted to check on her." Maia says.

"Um ok. Her room is 349 and it's on level 4."

"Ok thank you Stacy." I say and flash her a smile.

She doesn't reply, just stares at me.

I turn around and see Maia already in the elevator, holding it open for me.

"Take no time getting in here, then." I laugh as I run in.

As soon as the door closes and we're alone, she turns to me,

"Where you flirting with her?!"

"NO! I was only trying to be nice! Did it come off as flirting?"

"Yeah a little." She turns around and faces the wall.

Oh great, she's upset.

I walk over and wrap my arms around her from behind.

"Maia Lynch, I am so very sorry if you thought I was flirting with that Stacy, let me tell you, she wasn't pretty at all."

I kiss the corner of her lips.

"Do you forgive me?"

"Yes!! How could I stay mad at your adorable wittle face?"

She turns her head towards me and looks at me.

I lean in and kiss her smack dab on the lips.

All to quickly the elevator door opens.

"We'll finish that kiss later." I say frustratedly.

We step out and walk down the hall. After awhile of walking, we finally reach room 349.

I turn to Maia, "Are you ready to see her?"

She nods her head.

And I carefully open the door.
