chapter 1

I didn't want to get up yet, the sun was shining on my face and I knew if I didn't do something soon I would fall back into a deep sleep. I slowly stood up to avoid the blood rush to my head. I blinked in the morning light and stretched my arms above my head. I moaned as my back poped. I put clothes on and walked out of my room and walked to the kitchen, I saw Soul had passed out on the couch and was half on the floor and half up on the couch. I giggled when I saw him and continued over to the refrigerator and pulled out some bacon and eggs. the second the bacon sent started to fill the room I heard soul fall off the couch. "GOD DAM IT!" I laughed at him as he stood up "well good morning sleepy head." I said looking at him. he was holding his hand on his head, I guess he hurt himself more than I had expected. I walked over to him. "move your hand so I can see." "no" he said in a sleepy tone. I grabbed him by the wrist that was on his head and moved it. there was a big bump on his head. "haha I guess the bacon smells good." "uggghhh, could you grab me an ice pack?" he said still sounding sleepy. I went over to the fridge and got out an ice pack and then handed it to Soul. he set it on the bump and flinched. I must have looked worried because he said with a warm smile "I'll be fine" as he gave me a hug. I quickly walked over to the stove and continued to make breakfast. it finished quickly and I grabbed two plates and placed some bacon and eggs on both. me and soul finished eating soon and began to stare at each other. we started to laugh because we knew we looked stupid just sitting there but it didn't matter. "You might want to do something with your hair" I said smiling. Soul patted his hair down "you might want to take a look in the mirror yourself my friend." he gave me one of his famous shark tooth grins. I walked into the bathroom and saw my hair was a mess. it was Saturday and I knew I didn't have school today so I undressed and got into the shower and turned the water on. a fue minutes later I heard a nock at the bathroom door "what?" "can I come in?" "NO! Wait why?" I was confuSed. "I need to grab something" "what do you need to get?" "SOMETHING!" I was getting impatient with him. "just tell me so i can grab it." "oy I'll get it later" he sounded disappointed, did he just want to come in to see me naked? No, he wouldn't do that, we were just friends... right?

souls p.o.v

oh god, what was I thinking? I tried to go into to bathroom while she was in there! WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!? I probably sounded like a huge pirv trying to go in there while she was taking a shower. I didn't even have anything to grab, I was just being weird. I layed on my bed and took off my shirt. I felt so stupid, I just hope she didn't think I was weird. when she gets out I'll just act like nothing happened, it'll be fine. when she got out after what felt like forever, she seemed like she was avoiding me. God I've done it now, uggg now she thinks ima pirv. I gotta do something. I nocked on her door. "what?" "you wanna go do something? I'm bored of being inside." "sure." Yes! I'm finally getting out of the house for something other than school. we walked out of the house. "where we goin?" she asked. "ummm, wherever you wanna go ." she looked thoughtful. "Well... how about ice cream?" I smiled and nodded. we started walking to the ice cream shop when I noticed Maka was looking at the ground, deep in thought. "what's rong?" she took a second to respond. "nothing." I grabbed her by the shoulders and with one hand lifted up her chin, we looked into each other's eyes for a moment and then i asked again, "what's the matter?" she blushed which I thought was adorable. she looked at me with a reassuring smile, "I'm perfectly fine. " we continued walking and after a fue minutes of silence Maka spoke up. "what were you going to grab out of the bathroom?" oh crap. "umm, I was just going to grab my umm, deodorant." I didn't sound suspicious at all (sarcasm). we walked a little longer in silence and then came to the ice cream shop. we walked inside and ordered our ice cream, I got vanilla and Maka got strawberry. we sat at a counter and ate our ice cream. Maka started to smile at me and I looked at her confused. "You have ice cream all over your face." she let out a laugh as I tried to lick all the ice cream off of my face. Maka leaned over the table and put her index finder on my top lip and wiped the ice cream off my face. she then stuck her finger in my mouth to get the ice cream off her finger. I could feel my face getting warm, Maka let out an even louder laugh and took her finger out of my mouth. we sat there and laughed for a long time.
