The ink sends jolts of wonder
up my spine, then back down under
the life it brings to my eyes
gives me the truth behind the liesI write, I write, of the power
ignite, ignite, devourit sings in my veins,
my fingers it maimswho could be up at this hour?
But I know,
the legends end as cold as snowI open the door with a fiery glare
until I realize who's standing thereI gasp, I cry, I fall to my knees
I beg for forgiveness, I plea for easeThis burden is heavy,
please take it away
I'll never be ready
For the moment you say"Once upon a rhyme,
you believed my lies,
you gave up
all you had,
and now I call you mine.
Once upon a rhyme,
I looked into your eyes,
I promised you
I'd tell the truth,
but you didn't see the signs!"-GS
