He couldn't believe that had happened. It wasn't suppose to be that way. The memories flashed through Five's head as he sat in his room. This was bad. All this was bad. For one, he had completely pushed Marina over the edge. Note to self, do not do that again. For two, he had killed someone.
Yeah in practice he had killed some of the Mogadorians[by accident], but other than that nothing. So this was pretty overwhelming. On top of that, the Mogadorians were not happy with him. They could have used Eight. Five sighed as he lied down on his bed and closed his eyes. He opened them right back when he saw Marina's face in his mind. She haunted him and reminded him of his mistake every second of everyday. He wished he had someone to talk about it to. He knew she hated him now, but he wished she would forgive him. Five knew something had been going on between her and Eight, so that's why it had to hurt her that much.
Besides, losing a friend hurts everyone but Nine it seemed like.
Eight's words entered Five's mind several times as well, reminding him that they thought differently. Maybe he was wrong about how he felt. Maybe the Mogadorians were bad Aliens. He hated that she made him feel this way. Five didn't want to be conflicted. Nine made it easy to dislike his own kind; Marina made it easy to like them though. He sighed as he got up. He was not going to get any sleep until he confronted her. He didn't know where she was, but he knew the first place to look. He knew that their base hadn't been destroyed. It was unlikely they were there, but maybe he could find her there. Five quietly left the base and flew in that direction.
They were surprisingly easy to find. Five watched them from above, wondering when they would all sleep so he could sneak over to Marina. His luck grew. They all, but Marina, eventually went to bed. After he was sure that the others were asleep, Five landed. He quietly headed over to Marina. She was sitting by what was left of their pathetic fire, trying to stay warm. Five frowned at the site and then coughed to get her attention. She gasped and jumped up.
"You!" She growled. He put his finger in front of his mouth to try to get her to shut up, "You shouldn't be here you tratior!" That stung for some reason. Five stepped forward.
"Marina, quiet!" She took a deep breath. Now that he was here, Five didn't know what to say.
"You're going to turn us over, aren't you?" It was more of a statement than a question. Five frowned. He didn't think he could do it.
"I-I don't know," Now he was stuttering? She watched him.
"Why are you here?" She asked. Five didn't know how to answer that without her hating him more.
"I wanted to see you one last time," He responded, "You've got me conflicted," Marina looked like she didn't trust him.
"Well you better get back to the Mogadorians," She coldly said, "Before I wake the others," He frowned and nodded.
"Okay. Bye then," Marina watched as Five flew away. He didn't go very far. He watched her wake up the others and then flew off back to where he called home.
