It was a clear night in the Korea’s capital with only a few clouds littering the night sky , the moon illuminated the city, stars peeped out from behind passing clouds giving an extra glow to the city. Slowly a patter of rain pounded against the streets of Seoul, late night shoppers and party goers rushed home, slamming their doors shut behind them.

Outside a bar a girl and a boy walked hand in hand, whispering happily to each other as they gazed at the stars.

“Sungmin oppa, it’s raining! Let‘s go home” Joori pleaded shivering as she  pulled her jacket tighter around her frame, she threw up her hood and pouted.

Sungmin chuckled and pulled her closer to him wrapping her in his jacket, she snuggled into his chest and let out a sigh.

“Better?” He whispered a teasing smile on his face.

“Loads” She giggled smiling into his chest, she snuggled into his jacket, hugging him tighter.

“But I don’t see how we are going to walk like this without looking disturbed” She said shaking her head.

“You always have to kill the moment Joori ” He said crossly.

Joori pulled away and gave him a peck on his lips. “I love you” She  breathed into his ear.

Sungmin huffed but soon a smile slipped onto his face. “You know I hate it when you do that, You can‘t get away with everything jagiya”

Joori’s eyes widened and she pouted, ignoring his scolding “Aren’t you forgetting something”

He pulled Joori  into a deep kiss, he broke off and gave her a quick peck on her nose.

“I love you too” He whispered.

Joori grinned “Good boy, now let’s head home before we end up freezing to death”

Sungmin squeezed her hand, wrapping his fingers in hers and smiled, He nodded and the two started to head home.

“DON’T MOVE A MUSCLE” barked a deep voice behind them. They heard heavy footsteps behind them and not one five men walked in front of them, masks hid their faces, with only a small slip of material open for their eyes. Joori whimpered, but forced it away and replaced her look of fear with one of defiance.

“Give us everything you have NOW!” Roared the same man, his eyes burning with greed.

“who do you think-” Sungmin squeezed her hand and Joori stopped mid sentence.

As quick as a flash one of them grabbed Joori, her hand was roughly out of Sungmin’s hand, the man restrained her as she frantically tried to break free, an involuntary whimper escaped her and she shuddered as the man pressed his hold around her neck tighter.

Sungmin drew a deep breath calming his nerves, being reckless would only get them killed. He closed his eyes desperately trying to recall his seven years of martial arts, memories rushed back to him, he remembered the endless training, the sweat, body ache and glee when he was handed his next belt. His racing heart slowed and he clenched his fists.

“What are you doing, praying?!”  Chortled the man who seemed to be the leader as he stood in front of the rest of the men.

Sungmin’s eyes snapped open, before anyone could react he launched at Joori’s captor, his teacher’s words and teachings blared in his head and in a matter of seconds he had the man unconscious on the ground, he dragged the astounded Joori away from the men, behind a car.

“Don’t move” He muttered, planting a soft kiss on her cheek.

“Wait!, Oppa! You know how to fight!” Joori said unable to hide back her amazement.

Sungmin rushed back to the men who had recovered from their shock, they had formed a protective circle around who he assumed was  their boss ready for Sungmin’s approach.

He skidded to a stop and smirked, he knew better than to attack them all at once, his eyes ran over the men. Five men, including the one he had already knocked out, he smiled to himself it only took a quick jab in his neck and the man went tumbling to the floor.

No one made any approach, eventually one of them left the circle, he charged at Sungmin, fists raised. His fist soared through the air, aiming straight for Sungmin’s face, he scoffed catching it without so much as breaking a sweat.

“You shouldn’t have done that” He said, tutting. He twisted his attacker’s arm, who dropped to the floor in pain, he tried to get up but Sungmin jabbed him in two points on his neck and he flopped to the floor motionless.

Once they saw another comrade down they let out a roar of rage all charging at once including the boss. Sungmin executing a series of impressive kicks and punches and not before long they were all groaning at the floor around his feet. He smiled “Guess I still got it”

He quickly counted them, only four, He furrowed his eyebrows, he was sure there had been five of them, he shook the thoughts away and bounded back to Joori a grin fixed onto his face.

“I was great wasn’t I” Sungmin laughed, still feeling the rush of adrenaline.

Joori stood up from behind the car she was hiding behind, her brown eyes showed nothing but fear, standing in front of her was a man in a mask. The one Sungmin missed, and in his hand he held a knife holding it to Joori’s throat, the blade inches away from her skin.

Sungmin grin dropped and he froze unsure of what to do, the man glanced behind him to his comrades and saw them littering the street all unconscious.

“You bastard!” He roared and with a flick of his wrist he dug the knife deep into Joori’s stomach, she let out a groan of pain, her eyes widened in shock and she fell to the floor . Sungmin’s mouth gaped open and he jumped to catch her, he set her down onto the pavement and gave her a quick kiss on her forehead.

He got up his face etched with anger and fury, he launched at the man, punching him with all of his strength. The force of the punch set him flying to the floor in a matter of seconds unable to even react to Sungmin’s attack.

“Bastard..” He repeated trailing off as he lost consciousness.

Sunmin heard a snap and his wrist erupted in pain, he let it flop to the side and rushed to Joori, who lay on her back gasping, she clutched her stomach, pain was etched across her face.

“Sungmin I-”

“Don’t talk, I’m calling an ambulance” He rushed, pulling out his phone, his fingers sped across the keypad and a few moments later, he chucked the phone aside, finished with his call.

“Don’t worry, You’ll be fine” He croaked, choking back tears.

Blood poured from her wound  gushing onto the street, forming a puddle around her. Sungmin ripped off his jacket and used it to try and stem the bleeding.

“You’ll be fine” He repeated unsure who he was reassuring.

“No matter what happens remember that I love you” She spluttered, tears flowing down her pain ridden face.

“Don’t talk like that, You’ll be fine!” He shouted.

She shook her head and closed her eyes she coughed again, blood flowing from her mouth, she shuddered and her hand went limp in sungmin’s. She prised her eyes open and gave Sungmin one last look, tears escaped her eyes and she closed them again.

“Joori? Stop it, You’ll be fine!” He forced as she pushed back a wave fear, Tears streamed down his face, unable to push them back any longer.

Sirens wailed out in the distance, getting louder and louder. Sungmin cradled Joori in his arms, his tears splashing onto her face.

“I love you too”
