Outbreak of Z-Day

Glen part 2

I walked out from the cantine, rather quickly and Rae chased me. Shouting at me saying this was a stupid idea and that it would be useless. When we got to the playground, I stopped and asked her for her weapon.

"It's a bow. You won't be able to use it right." She handed me a machete. "Take this." I took it and walked on. "You're gonna get everyone killed!" She shouted at me and I just gave her the finger.Missy, following behind me, asked, "So what's the plan?"

"Ah we get a car drive to my house, take all the shit and grab my dog and drive out of there." I told her.

"We need more guns." Julie informed us.

"I'll make a sweep run into town." Missy agreed. "I'll check the gun shop and any other shops for extra supplies. Medicinal."

"Alright. Simple and straight-forward." Jack sounded happy. "Let's go." We went to the maths block and climbed into the back garden of one of the houses. We snuck through the garden, and into the house. We all searched for some keys to a car. Then we heard creaking upstairs. Jack went up with his silenced sub-machine gun. We could hear a struggle and then a thud. Jack walked down the stairs and in his hands was a key ring. He went to the window and pressed the unlock button on the keys. He scanned the street for a responsive car, and found it. We walked to the front door and Julie cracked it open. She opened it slowly and snuck to the car, not taking her eyes off the large group of infected. Missy did the same after Julie signaled it all clear. Once Missy made it I followed, and then Jack. We all got into the car and drove away. We all relaxed a bit. I watched as we passed infected shambling about and cars with blood smeared across them and some dead bodies lying in gardens and dogs running around. We came to the top of the Horse shoe bend and Jack stopped the car. We all got out and looked at the city. Smoke was rising from parts and some flames were noticeable. We watched as there was some sort of small military group trying to fight back. After awhile we all just drove on to my home.

When we reached the Hydepark church, we noticed a large horde up at the industrial zone.

"It's okay we don't need to go anywhere near there." I told Julie, who was now driving. Turn left." And we drove past the Academy bar and Mallusk primary school. We turned into the street. "First cal-de-sac." I told her. She turned in and stopped at my house, as directed. I jumped out and the door was locked. I took out my key and opened the door. "Hello?" I called in, I heard movement up the stairs and readied the machete. I climbed the stairs and there was a woman standing with 2 kids and an elderly woman. "It's okay, we're not going to hurt you. We can help?" I said, reaching out to them with my free hand, machete now in the pouch. MIlly and Jack came up the stairs, and stopped the guy pointing a gun to my head. "Thanks." I said. I glared at the group. "WE WERE GOING TO HELP YOU!!!" I screamed, the woman flinched.

"Please we thought you were infected." Missy and Jack stopped helping the man up and just stared at them.

"Are you retarded?" Missy asked. "A zombie wouldn't be able to open a locked door, talk or want to help you." I went to the bed and dropped to the floor and reached under, pulling the sports bag and some old school bags out.

"I'm gonna put some clothes in this and you put some food in these and there are extra bags downstairs, near the back door." They both went back downstairs, with the school bags and I heard them rummaging the kitchen for food. I went to my brother's wardrobe and threw his clothes and shoes into the bag, then to my room and threw all my clothes and shoes in, along with a few extra books and my CDs and computer games. I grabbed my laptop bag from under my bed and put my laptop into it, along with everything it would need and I also grabbed my camera and its battery charger. I went to my sister's room and took the clothes she had left behind. I went back down the stairs and Missy and Jack had everything in the car. I ran out and put the 2 bags in the boot, I went back in and decided to grab the xbox and put it in another bag along with all our games. I ran back out and put it in the car. The group that we found in there came outside. The woman opened her mouth to speak and I just ignored her rushing past her and into the utility room, I opened the garage door and turned the light on, I opened the larger garage door and went to the utility room again and grabbed Glen's led and went outside to him. He was sitting at the door waiting for me. I opened it and closed it behind me, I got down on one knee and hugged him and he started to run about wagging his tail and he made some happy barks. I clicked the led onto his collar and lead him to the car in the garage. I put him in the boot, the woman was watching me do this,

"Can you get the dog food?" I asked her. She wasted no time and dragged it out. She put it in the boot with Glen. "Can you drive?" I asked her and she nodded. "Follow us." She went to get her group and came back with them, the guy was now walking. "It's only four seats. We'll take one of you." The man decided to come with us. And we all got into our cars. We got to the opening of the cal-de-sac and looked at the opening of the street. The horde had been moving down the road. We all ducked in our seats, the other car reversing back into the cal-de-sac. We watched as the horde passed and as we watched only a small number were left. Then a small group started to wander up the street, we all started to worry, Julie opened her door and crawled out, followed by Jack. Milly followed Julie's idea and opened her door and crept out. Julie had a silenced pistol, Jack had his silenced sub-machine gun and Milly had a small crossbow. I crawled out after her and watched them as they shot all the zombies. One or two getting to close but not quite getting close enough. After they were all down, we got back into the car and started driving again. We reached the bottom and noticed that the horde was split in 2, making it impossible to get out of Mallusk. The 1st part of the horde had went far enough to make a detour around the playing fields, so Julie stomped her foot down and we speed right past the zombies, the others making it by a hair and then speeding along with us. We got to the roundabout and drove up to Blackrock and through back to the road we came. I took out my phone and the signal was still on, ignoring the fact for a moment, and called Victoria,

"Get the gates ready." I told her as we drove through the hills. "Maths block, get anyone with weapons to get rid of the ones to close to the gate."

"Okay."

"And we've got guests." We came to Ballysillian and drove to the school as fast as we could and we went through the streets not down Cliftonville road, we reached the gates and they were open for us, we drove straight into them and the other car followed. The gates shutting behind us. Milly and I got out from the car and it drove on into the main playground. We walked over to the group at the gate, Daniel, James, Craig and the new James and on the roof clearing the infected was Rae and a few other older ones, Jessica's dad included. We all walked into the main playground and the food was already being moved to the cantine and Glen was out from the boot of the Ka and running around like a free spirit. I whistled a few times, before he came over to me. "Hey, Jessica. I think we shout put the dogs in the maths block just so we know were they are and they aren't running around." She nodded at me from the car and she handed her bags to her dad. She got Rosie and we lead them to the maths block, closing the gate behind us.

When we returned to the car, the xbox and laptop were out. I quickly snatched my laptop bag, the large sports bag and the bag with the xbox. I went to the large music room. Plugged the TV in and set up the xbox and put the games on one of the shelves after getting rid of all books in them, well set them in neat piles on the floor(we might need them to keep warm or something). I went back out and everyone was watching me. "I've set it up." I then continued to the Crombie and started to work on my laptop.
