.Jack ran outside shouting to the others, what he just told me. I sat on the stairs, what was going to happen? If we tried to run, the zombies would kill us, and if we stayed, the Americans would probably kill us. I looked outside everyone seemed panicked. I stood up and walked down the stairs. I wasn't going to let the Americans kill my friends or me. I walked outside, everyone was in a large group.

"What are we going to do?" Rae asked me.

"We're going to fight." I told her. "We know the school, they don't. We have the upper hand."

"How?" James Johnston asked, sceptical of how we would fight back, or of my plan.

"I need people to run through the Bruce, opening all the gas valves, filling the rooms with gas."

"I'll go." Jessica volunteered.

"Okay make sure the windows are all closed and the gas is on." Louise reminded her.

"Jessica," I shouted and she stopped and walked backwards, "You'll need these." I handed her matches.

"Are you saying I get to blow up the Bruce?" She asked me, a grin tugging at her face. I nodded and she did a little skip as she started walking towards the Bruce entrance.

I looked back to the others. "Anyone that hasn't got any fighting experience I want to follow me." I walked to the maths block and the dogs ran passed as I opened the gates. Go up to the assembly hall, make sure the doors are sealed and then barricade them with whatever you can. They all walked on into the assembly hall, locking it and stacking all kinds of things in front of them. I walked back to the others, the fighters. "I want you to protect the others in the assembly hall." I looked to Daniel, "Use the Jackson building entrance to the assembly hall. Daniel started to lead the group away when I noticed Victoria walking with his group. "Victoria?" I shouted. "What are you doing?"

"I wanna help." She told me and after a hesitation I nodded,

"Stay with me then." I took my phone out of my pocket and text Jessica.

'Once you have gassed the rooms meet me and Victoria in the playground.' After a few minutes she did as she was told.

"Okay so what are we going to do?" She asked as she walked towards us.

"We're going to lead the Americans through the Bruce and then you are going to blow the Bruce up. We then run back to the Assembly hall and well the Americans will be killed by the people guarding the Assembly hall." I rushed the plan because the Americans would be here anytime soon, then we heard the gun shots, multiple zombies dropping to the floor, other zombies swarming their dead companions and eating them. A large army truck drove through the zombies and the driver spotted us, the men in the back of the truck jumped out and killed the zombies around before they shot the locks off the gates and pushed them open. We ran for the Bruce, them following after us, shooting at us but missing. We got into the Bruce and the smell of gas was weak, but since we could smell it on the bottom floor the higher floors must be filled. I put my sleeve over my hand and held it over my mouth, Jessica and Victoria had the same idea and followed me up the steps of the second staircase as the soldiers just shot the glass, Victoria screaming as it shattered behind her. We heard the soldiers following us up. We ran into BB3 and through it into BB4 and ran closely chased by the soldiers. I held the door open as Jessica and Victoria ran through, Jessica trying to light a match, she lit one just as the soldiers ran into the room. She tossed it in, the room instantly catching alight and the soldiers being thrown backwards, like us. I picked myself off the ground and helped Victoria up. We both ran over to Jessica, her leg was bleeding.

"Fuck!" She screamed, as she held her broken leg.

"How the fuck did that happen?" I asked her.

"I landed on it." She shouted at me. I helped her up, putting one arm around my shoulder and the other around Victoria. We were in the french corridor, when I realised the gates had been left open.

"Guys," I looked at them both. "The gates were left open." Victoria and Jessica looked at the stairs beside them, human shaped shadows shifted and moans rose from them.

"Shit!" Victoria cried. We started to jog, we would have ran but Jessica was hopping. We could see Daniel and the others ready to shoot. "It's us!" Victoria shouted at them. We then heard gun shots from outside. More Americans had arrived. We decided to try running but Jessica was in to much pain.

"Go without me." She managed between her gritted teeth. "I'll hold them off." I handed her a machete.

"Good luck." I nodded to her. She hopped down the staircase, not the one with the zombies, we were at a different staircase. She went outside and that was the last we would hear or see of her. Victoria and I watched her as she made her way downstairs, we hadn't noticed the zombies were now close to us, so close one grabbed Victoria by the hair and started pulling her towards it. I punched it in the head, my hand going through half of it's rotted head. I pulled my hand out and looked at the rotted flesh on my knuckles, I near puked but Victoria grabbed my clean hand and pulled me towards the others down the hall. We when we reached them they started to open fire. We slid down the wall and sat on the floor, backs against the wall. The zombies weren't stopping, they just horded us. We started backing towards the assembly hall. The others ran in before me and Victoria could reach the stairs. They were covering us until Rae saw it. An infected with large claws, grey skin and pale white eyes was crawling around the ceiling, it screeched at us before it launched itself onto Victoria. She screamed as the Crawler's claws pierced through her back. It started to pull her hair, she was still alive just in an incredible amount of pain, it pulled it so far back that it started to rip her head open. I tried to run to save her but everyone was pulling me back, into the assembly hall. I watched as the horde surrounded her just before Daniel pulled the door shut. Louise hugged me, I could hear her crying, I hugged her back, holding my tears back. Daniel looked at us, his face was filled with an expression of sorrow, even James Johnston was upset, not really upset but upset a little. I got up, everyone was in the assembly hall. We sat in complete silence, we listened to the moans and shrieks that originated from the zombies and the gunshots and screams that the Americans made. After a few minutes the moans and gunshots had stopped, there was now only a banging on the doors. The doors burst off the hinges, everyone close to the doors were shredded by the machine guns and shotguns. Everyone, but Louise, James, Daniel and I, ran for the doors, screaming and shouting as they tried to unbarricade the doors. I looked up and whispered "Why?" before gunshots rang out and all was black.

I jolted awake, I didn't recognise my surroundings, the room was dark. I got up and tried walking away but I just tripped over something. I looked at it, the moonlight was in the perfect position to show to me that it was a familiar face, a familiar face but a face I didn't recognise. But I knew it from somewhere. I picked myself off the ground and started running for an exit, I was at the top of some staircases, they led down to a small hallway, littered with rotten dead bodies. I did my best not to look at them as I walked over and through them. I reached the bottom and was in another corridor. I seen a stair case and went down to it. I looked at my arm, a bandage covered it and my veins were as dark as the night and my skin was paler than ever. I walked out of the building and into the a large open area, a playground of sorts. I looked to see two dogs, both dead, bullets through the head. A red setter was one of them, I got down on one knee and inspected his collar, he was called Glen, my head began to hurt as I stroked his goldeny ginger fur.

I was in a garden, I had black trousers, a grey jumper and a white shirt on. I had a tennis ball in my hand and in front of me was the same dog. It was sunny and his fur was shining, his tail wagged as I pretended to throw the ball and he followed it.

I was back in the large open space, I looked at the dog, my dog. I let out a deep breath and a tear rolled down my cheek.
