Khamari's point of view:
I'm hot, hungry, dirty, and I don't know where my mommy and daddy are. The door just opened to reveal my parents and a CPS worker. I start crying and make grabby hands for someone to pick me up. My mommy picks me and sits me down on her lap next to the CPS worker. I move my head towards my mommy breast and I put my hand in her shirt to take one out. Mommy notices this and slaps my hand away to tell me no. The worker looks on with concern and decides to have a conversation with mommy.
Conversation:
Worker: When was the last time Khamari had something to eat?Mommy: I'm not sure. I think yesterday before I put him down for a nap.
Worker: It's noon now, so it has been almost 24 hours since he ate and you just denied him of some milk. What about his diaper? When was the last time he had a fresh one on?
Mommy: Yesterday morning.
Worker: This is my 4th visit to this home and this baby has not been taken care of. I don't have a choice but to remove Khamari from your care.
Mommy: What? Please don't take my baby from me.
Worker: I'm very sorry, but I have been left with no choice.
End of conversation
The worker takes me out of my mommy lap and carries me to her car. She buckles me into a carseat and calls her boss. After receiving instructions, she drives off with me. Hopefully to a new life.
