A soft melody of the bell chiming away in the clock tower filled her ear's, Hikari glanced up from her book that she read, she knew it was almost time for class to begin. She shut her book, and began walking to her next class, her mind swarmed with questions. Ever since she arrived at the academy, Hikari had felt a strange presence looming over her, putting her on edge. Normally, she wouldn't believe in supernatural things, but she got a feeling that she was being followed by a mysterious presence. Though her partner was a mystery as it was, though the dark atmosphere wasn't from him, it was from someone else with a dark past.

Just who could it be?

She pondered on the thought, biting her bottom lip in wonder. With her mind swirling with unanswered questions, she couldn't focus on what she was doing at the moment. Hikari let out a doleful sigh, and quickened her pace to her next class, hoping to ease her mind with all the things happening to her at the moment. As she continued her way to class, she heard footsteps from behind her, Hikari looked back, and found Sarï running towards her. The short strawberry blonde stopped and smiled at her.

"Sarï-chan, it's good to see you."

"...It's good to see you to, Hikari-chan. ...Huh?"

Sarï looked around her, making Hikari raise a brow in confusion. Sarï was Kira's best friend, but she believed that the strawberry blonde-haired girl had feelings for her raven-haired partner. The reason why Hikari thought that was because Sarï would add the comical "kun" at the end of his first name. Usually couples would add the "kun" at the end of their lovers names. And plus, Sarï would blush every time she would see him.

"Hey, where's Kira-kun? Is he already in class, or is he hiding once again from Valerie-sempai?"

"Ooh, I... umm, I don't know, really. When I woke up, he was already gone I believe."

"Aah, I forgot! Saï did say that he was weird like that. "Always disappearing without a trace", like he was some kind of ghost, or something. But the only time he showed up for class, was during Combat Practice. Because Lena-sempai would always give him pointer's on the striking procedure or something like that."

Nodding to the other girls observation on the black-haired boy, Hikari smiled and chuckled. She was right about Kira disappearing a lot, normally he would walk out of the room, saying his usual line when he left, "I'll be back in a little while", and when he came back, he would call out "First Year Akashi Kira has returned home". She wasn't surprised about him running off, Hikari knew it was apart of his personality and it was who he was, Kira would probably never change, even when they graduate onto the Second Year Dorm, the Elite Swordsmen group.

Releasing a sigh, she grabbed her notebook, and her large textbook that she had to have for class. Hikari walked with her friend to their next class, since each class was on each floor, on different wings of the school. Her next class geometry, she studied all night, she even had to help her partner who was poor at it.

That's because the idiot needs to study more instead of running off like he always does...!

She thought bitter while she adjusted her grip on her the notebook and textbook. Hikari looked amongst the crowd of students who walked to class, chatting with their friends about class or Combat Practice, she could only pick up a few things that weren't school related. Money, Nobility, Talent, or Sex. She rolled her eyes each time she would hear a conversation like that, and pretend she didn't hear anything. Hikari closed her eyes, trying to calm her overwhelming thought's, until a familar voice came across her mind.

"Oï! I said I'm fine! It's nothing serious!"

That voice belonged to her partner, Kira who disappeared earlier in the morning, making her wonder what it's all about. She stopped her route to class, and began to investigate the scene, find that the black-haired youth was in the infirmary. A nurse wearing all white hovered around him, trying to settle the boy down. She poked and prodded at him with a cloth, while she tried to clean up the blood from the wound on his shoulder. Instantly, Kira gritted his teeth and rounded up on her with harsh words.
