Chapter Thirteen: Prepration's

The Thursday night was filled with life, bringing a new sense of life to the academy. A life of peaceful and a night of fun to the students. The Tournament of the Seven Sun's was on it's ways in three day's, meaning soon the four chosen participant's would leave and travel to the capital to compete against the other academies in Irà. Such an event that no person would miss, due to it was also a sign of peace and freedom to the five kingdoms.

Inside the ball room, the entire school danced to the sound of music, the girls wore white, red and black dresses, while the guys wore black and white dress robs. They all danced to the rhythmic sound of the band play a song called Yoru no merodī, a song where couples could dance slowly to the rhythm of the violin and cello were being played by two rugged old men who sat calmly as they could.

Hikari had never seen the academy this lively since she arrived here, her eyes scanning across the ball room with greed, feasting upon the beautiful light's. Truly this was a magnificent sight, the elegance hidden away at the broad rugged exterior and interior of the large building, which seemed lost within. Hikari smiled and walked down the step's, wearing a beautiful white dress with a red-like sash around her abdomen. While she walked down the steps, she could feel her peer's eyeing her, whispering "Oh my god", "She's beautiful", "I wonder if she'll dance with me", and other things that made her cheeks flush red.

--Seriously, why does everyone have to stare...?

Hikari ignored the sudden whistles and whispers that floated around her, she didn't want to be the center of attention of the entire party. The whole party was for the nominees of the Tournament of The Seven Sun's, her, Lena, Kaname, and Kira were going to the capital tonight 11:00, and would fight in the arena under the watch of the Five King's of Irà. Hikari knew she would have to put all of her strength and determination into winning, it wasn't for her, but for her partner. Hikari sighed and pushed those thought's aside and walked onto the ball room floor, watching the sea of couples dance to the music.

The dances were simple when dancing with another person, apart from asking someone to dance, they would hold the others hand and place on the girls back while they place their hand onto the guys shoulder. The foot movement was set apart, it wasn't at random either, it was a waltz. But in the sea of red, black, and white made it seem beautiful from standing at a high point. Hikari smile deepened, this was one of Star-fall academy's greatest uniqueness's. Besides of the themed ball, it seemed the entire student body was filled with many color's.

I'm so happy that I'm here.

She walked towards the food bar, where she promised to meet Sarï and Saï. The two were a complete nervous wreck since the party began. Sai asked Sarï to join him for the dance, and it brought her the attention that the light brown haired boy was in love with the strawberry blonde. Hikari shook her head when she saw the both of them standing awkwardly by the food court, they barely looked at each other as the time past in what seems to be a steady motion. She got to the food court, finding her friends' eyes lighting up at her presence.

"Hikari-chan! It's good to see you down here."

"It's good to see you too Sarï-chan, Sai. ...I hopped to see Kira-san down here."

"Kira-kun doesn't really come to event's like these, he thinks they're a waste of time."

"...Ooh..."

Hikari lowered her gaze to the floor disappointment, it wasn't that she didn't want to be alone, she wanted to talk to somebody she could relate to. Since she and Kira got along so well, she only felt natural to feel lonely without his company, especially in a place like this. But she couldn't let a small fracture of disappointment get in her way of a beautiful night such as this. Hikari lifted her head with a renewed sense of happiness and patted Sai the shoulder.
