Sheva stared out the window of her room, knife in hand. She could've sworn she saw someone out there. She watched the bushes carefully, her eyes twitching up to the treetops occasionally.
"Sheva?" Josh came in from behind, making her jump, "Something wrong?"
Shaking her head she explained, "I thought I saw something."
"Shouldn't we tell Leon then?"
She turned to look at him, giving a small smile, "I'm sure it was nothing."
"Then why are you holding your knife?" He stared, watching her knuckles turn white.
Sheva stuck the weapon back in it's sheath before sitting down on the bed, "Did you need something, Josh?"
"I wanted to talk to you about something I saw on the camera last night."
"What are you talking about?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
There was nothing suspicious on the cameras that she had seen. Unless he had re-watched the tapes from when they had left to see what the screaming was about, Sheva had no idea what there would be to talk about.
He produced two pictures from his pocket, "This is the picture Jill printed." He held up the new picture, "I printed this one when you went to get us some food. I was watching the tapes to make sure we didn't miss anything. There was movement in the corner of one of the frames, it's too dark to be able to tell what it is but it looks similar to what Chris and Jill had seen."
Sheva studied the two, one of the shapes was smaller than the other, and while one seemed to have touches of color; the other was just a black blur.
She frowned, looking up at Josh, "I don't think they're the same thing."
"What could it be then?"
She pointed out the shape of the new picture, "This one is smaller, not as tall. I'm not sure what it could be… But whatever's out there, there's more than one."
"We need to tell the others," Josh pressed.
His eyes shot towards the window; pulling out his gun in one swift movement, he ducked down to the ground. Sheva quickly copied his movements, waiting until he looked out the window to ask what he had seen.
"It was too fast, I couldn't tell what it was. It isn't human," His stare burned into her eyes, the urgency in his tone made her blood pump faster.
She felt the adrenaline kick in, her muscles shook and sweat began to form on her forehead. Thundering footsteps echoed through the hallway as Claire ran through the house. She stopped in the doorway, instantly going into a crouch as she saw Josh and Sheva.
"Did you see it?"
Sheva nodded her head, her breathing becoming short. The nightmare was supposed to be over, wasn't it?
"It was too fast, we didn't get a good look at it," Josh informed her, taking another look outside.
"I think Leon got a good picture of it. He wants everyone in the basement."
Leon whirled around, reaching for his gun as the door to the basement opened. Chris, Jill, Sheva, Josh, and Claire scrambled inside, slamming the door shut behind them. They all stood inside, clutching their guns tightly, breathing heavily, and waiting for something to happen. Leon pressed his finger to his lips as he reached for the light switch.
A crash echoed down into their hiding place followed by the sound of footsteps. Leon stared at the door, moving subconsciously towards Claire, and pushing her further away from the entryway. Chris stepped up next to him, pointing his gun up at the door, his breathing was steady as they listened to the footsteps grow louder.
