Klaus POV

It has been 3 weeks since Caroline came into my life and to this day I am still surprised. My angel has been gifted to me for my good deeds (if any, I should add). She is a true blessing from someone up there in the universe.

And to see my love in pain is something that I have come to hate the most. It was an hour ago that we were sleeping. As per my wishes Caroline cuddles with me while we sleep. And in the middle of it, an hour ago I woke up only to realise that she was trembling and shivering mumbling something too low for me to understand.

She was suffering from throat infection due to the ice cream she ate 2 days ago and to see her lying in bed in this state was unbearable for me. Right now I just waited for the meds to kick in. How pathetic of me...I could not help my love. And my blood was of no use for the infection in her body right now.

"Klaus please stop worrying..." Caroline stopped in mid sentence to cough.

"NO love. You stop this. You are sick and should take rest rather than getting worried for me. And I am here to take care of you..." I said.

A doctor followed by Elijah entered our room the very second.

"Miss Forbes, a doctor is here to see you."
Elijah said to my love.

Caroline tried to sit up on the bed when I rushed forward to aid her. I straightened the pillow on her back and pulled the covers to her waist to make her more comfortable.

Elijah stood at a distance while I hovered around her. I did not like one bit how that bloody human in the name of being a doctor was touching my Caroline. I lost my cool when he touched her bosom with his sethescope.

"STOP" I shouted and grabed his hand, and in seconds pushed him against the wall.

"Dont you dare touch my mate in that manner you filthy man" he was choking against the wall to my immense satisfaction.

When he touched my Caroline, all I saw was green at that very moment.

Caroline POV

I forgot all my sickness at that moment. Seeing Klaus like that made me feel bad. My poor baby...what he felt was pretty obvious. The Soul Thread should never be threatened  by anyone at all. That is the most absolute law.

"Dont you dare touch my mate in that manner you filthy man". Klaus would kill him that was for sure. I should stop this.

Elijah was about to pull Klaus when I stopped him.

"Elijah don't!...he is in a very posessive mode right now...its our bond...Let me do it." My voice was soar and almost a whisper but he heard it clearly due to his vampire ears.

"Klaus...baby...please calm down. I know whats going on. Slow down please. Its the bond. He was just doing my check up. Please let him go. I need you with me. Let him do the check up quickly so we can cuddle together hmm?"
I spoke to him very softly holding his other hand all this while.

He looked at my face for very long and after what felt like hours...he let the doc go, only to compel him not to touch me inappropriately.

I sighed in relief. But the exaustion of my sickness and worry was too much for me, it seemed.

And everything went black that very second.

Klaus POV

My love explained me very slowly of what had occured right now. It was the bond not me. I realised how true it was. The twinge in my chest when that bloody human touched my mate was a proof. The thread was being pulled in the wrong direction.

I let him go for my love. Her health is more important than this doochebag.

But that very moment she passed out. I immediately took her in my arms to put her in bed. The doctor completed the goddamn check up and left finally. Elijah too left hastily only to avoid my anger I suppose.

About 15 minutes later she was conscious again.

"Dont you dare do this to me again sweatheart! Why did you come between me and that stupid doc? You know how weak you are right now. I was handling things. You are not supposed to take so much stress. You have to keep yourself safe for me! How will I bear it if I lost you love?"
I poured out all my anger and love for her after seeing her awake.

"Baby, I am fine. Its ok. I had to stop you. It was the bond. And I just did not want you kill someone because of me. Relax. I am alright. You are with me to keep me safe. Nothing will ever & I mean it..nothing will take you away from me. Ok dear. I love you so much." She said while cuddling with me.

"I love you too my love. You are mine for the rest of eternity." I said.

Seeing how tensed both of us were I thought to lighten the mood. I had to make her smile.

"You know what Caroline. I was thinking...maybe once your infection is gone. We could go ahead with my plan." Come on love rise to the bait.

"What plan baby?" She asked looking at me lovingly.

"My plan to make sweet and pleasurable love to you. My goal is to satisfy and make you all tingly love..." I said with a smirk.

And to my great pleasure she blushed red all over. She spluttered at that.

"Umm..oh...plans...wow...I..I..you mean.." she looked adorably flustered.

"Yes love, how about some rehearsals for the baby making. You need to sample my equipment dont you?" I said in a husky voice.

"Klaus..." she said softly.

"Relax love. Maybe we should put a hold on it. But only till you recover. After that get ready for the most beautiful night of your life."

She smiled lighting my world like always. And whispered. "A beautiful night indeed".

And just like that we slept. Letting go of all the worries of the world. Just being together with one another.
