So guys. It is day 1 of my beach vacation at St. George Island.

It is beautiful here.

I took that picture

I took that picture. It was my beach view as I lounged around.

But don't worry. I was not a lazy sack all day.

My day started at 7:30 when I woke up and took a shower. I had to get ready for church at 10:00.

I are breakfast and we drove off the island and onto the mainland to attend church.

After church we went to the Piggly Wiggly to get some groceries seeing as we had none.

We came home and had homemade sub sandwiches for lunch while we played cards.

After lunch I got active. Like really active. My family rented bikes so me and my dad and my brother took our bikes and biked half of the island. Now you may think that is easy but don't forget we had to bike back. We ended up biking 11 miles in that go.

But it was not all sunshine and sea spray. There were a few bumps in the road.

The first was, there was a wooden bridge over a swampy part of the trail. We biked over it, but at the end there was a sharp turn. I didn't turn sharp enough and the next thing I know, my bare leg is rubbing against the rough wood of the bridge.

We didn't haw any band-aids so I had to wash it with water really quick and keep going

We didn't haw any band-aids so I had to wash it with water really quick and keep going. Now the air at the beach is salty. And I had an open wound. While riding a bicycle. Yeah. Ouch. And it was only mile 3.

The second bump was the fact that we didn't put on sunscreen. Mistake.

Can you tell how long my shorts were? (Ignore my shrimpy toes peeking out from under my legs) (I am not sitting in A chair btw

What about my sleeves?

Yeah. I got burned. But I didn't realize until like three it four hours after.

The third was just a tragedy. Helmet hair. Yikes.

But we got back and I even managed to walk up stairs without falling.

Now you may be thinking 'that really isn't a major feat.'

Well for someone whose major accomplishment I the day last week was getting off the couch, I can assure you it is for me.

When we got back I had to clean and bandage my wound. That hurt. That hurt so bad. But I lived.

Then we headed to the beach to meet my mom, sister, and older brother. But they left like 15 minutes after I got there. My and my little brother stayed. Me lounging in a chair reading and him digging a hole underneath me.

Then we had to go back. Sad. I know. But it worked out cuz I was texting someone and there was no wi-fi and no service.

We had hot dogs for dinner and watched Star Wars The Force Awakens. Then had cake and ice cream.

Now you may be like 'Veerah, you biked off all those calories. Why eat more?'

Well my friend. 1) I am on vacation. It is my time to let loose. 2) I am injured and food is my consolation and medicine. 3) I wasn't done yet.

After the movie me and my dad any younger brother got on our bikes and went out again.

Yes my butt hurts. Yes my thighs hurt. Yes I will feel it tomorrow. No I don't regret it.

We biked another 4 miles. But we forgot bug spray and I got eaten alive. I am one big bug bite. I got bit badly while we stopped to take a picture, but it was worth it.

Yes that is me

Yes that is me. Yes I understand I am not skinny. Yes Veronica is my name. Yes I have a street. Yes it is my way or the high way. Yes I see the burn line. Yes it's bad. And if you look at my right knee (the one on the left) you'll see a horse fly biting me. Yes it hurt.

We went home. And now here I am. Telling you.

So I biked 15 miles today. And it was great.

I had a good day. Hoping for another like this tomorrow. You know, with sunscreen and bug spray.

How was your day?

Love you lots.
